Tucked behind private iron gates, at the end of a shrub-lined gravel driveway, guests will be charmed by this lovely shepherd's hut in this quiet spot in the pretty Somerset countryside. A few wooden steps take visitors to the front door of this enchanting corrugated hut, and there is plenty of outside lighting in case of night arrivals. And once inside, visitors will discover everything required for a relaxing stay.
The kitchen area is incredibly well-equipped for a shepherd's hut - there is even a washing machine. Guests will find everything they require to put together everything from romantic dinners to picnics. A handy breakfast bar has two leather swivel bar stools where guests can enjoy meals and pitch in with the cooking, or just keep the cook company and refill glasses. After dinner, head to the living area and sink into the sofa and make plans for the following day, or relax in front of the wall mounted television and enjoy a movie night with your loved one.
When bedtime beckons, the sofa can be extended to become a very good sized double bed. Pull the pretty blind down over the adjacent window and snuggle in the soft linens and duvet for a peaceful sleep. The hut has an en suite with full-sized shower and a pretty stained glass window.
High wooden fences provide total privacy and seclusion, but views of the neighbouring paddocks remain uninterrupted. Guests will love to spend relaxing evenings sitting outside at the outdoor dining furniture, enjoying the calm environment and taking in the last sunny rays of the day.
Underneath a wooden gazebo, festooned in pretty fairy lights, hours can be whiled away in the hot tub. Slide in with a glass of something fizzy and truly unwind in the warm bubbling water. Undercover, it is to be enjoyed whatever weather the British summer time brings.
When it's time to explore the local area, there is plenty to discover. Take a day out in Wells and be sure to pay a visit to the spectacular cathedral and stay for lunch. Try Twenty One for casual dining or enjoy a pint and some pub grub at The Fountain Inn.

Leave a reviewRockys retreat is a lovely and beautiful place for a well deserved and relaxing stay. Had everything you needed and more. Hot tub was lovely and hot. The hut was clean and warm with treats. The cats are beautiful and friendly. Collin was very welcoming and helpful. I would recommend this place for everyone and will be coming again in the near by future.

Had the most wonderful stay here for the weekend for a girls relaxing weekend away! Beautiful peaceful location, can feed the sheep digestives in the morning that they love! There is an animal sanctuary opposite with cute dogs and other animals the owners care for. It's a beautiful idea that the money spent here helps fund the care of the animals here! Vegan friendly, upon arrival we were showed how to use everything and were welcomed with yummy vegan cakes. They also had all cupboards filled with everything you could possibly need for a stay here! Prosecco on arrival in the hot tub! Perfect weekend away, highly recommend & will be back! The care and thought the owners put into this place is lovely to see!

Come for a girls weekend with my best friend and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Was so relaxing, everyone’s friendly! The cabins full of pasta, tinned food and a full fridge upon arrival which was more than we had bargained for! I would 100% recommend to friends and family and will be staying again! Lovely location, near a little village with pubs only a walk away, yet in a private area for you to enjoy the hot tub! If I could give more stars* I would! 100/10! * Thanks for our stay!

What an amazing little place Rocky's Retreat is...Colin was so welcoming on our arrival and explained everything to us....the cabin was so well stocked with everything we could need and more....the cabin its self is stunning and immaculate....bedding and towels all proved and again immaculately clean.....hot tub was amazing and we had a lovely meal in the Nog Inn down in the small town one evening....All in all its just a fantastic little place that we will definitely return to and would highly recommend to friends and family.....Will miss our 2 little friends Monty and Sydney (cats ) that came to visit each day.....thankyou for a wonderful relaxing weekend

What a beautiful stay at this lovely retreat. Colin was very welcoming on arrival. I could not believe the amount of goodies stocked up in the cupboards and fridge, the hot tub was amazing and the children really enjoyed feeding the sheep biscuits, amazing stay I could not recommend another place more than I do here we will definetly be returning for another stay absolutely outstanding thank you so much for having us over the weekend if I could give more than 5 starts I truly would ??

We really enjoyed our stay at Rocky's Retreat. Lovely bucolic surroundings, nice hot tub, Colin left lots of nice food, fresh fruit, scones cream and jam. Quality bathrobes, more than enough towels to last our stay. There were 2 very friendly cats who were great company. We would definitely stay again!

This is our 2nd time at Rockys Retreat for us. We really enjoy coming here for a relaxing weekend away with the hottub always ready to get into and goodies on the table and in the fridge to enduldge in to. I booked this stay for my partner and myself for his 30th birthday. We could not have been more happy with the accommodation. I asked if we could have helium balloons for the celebration and the service was amazing! We had a couple of cats from the rescue visit us and they were adorable! A great getaway, perfect for a relaxing week or long weekend! I would 100% recommend.

Rocky’s was the most perfect retreat! Colin, Liz & Shane went above & beyond for our stay and stocked the cabin up beyond our imagination with goodies & essentials!! The hut was made by Colin and it is so beautiful. The shower is outstanding. On top of all of this, included in the price was a birthday cake & some birthday truffles too. A great stay & a great family! The tiniest thing I think that could be considered in future would be disposable slippers for before and after using the hot tub. 10/10 stay! Thank you all.
