Get back to nature at the Arc Cabin, a timber-built getaway located in its own idyllic piece of Cambridgeshire woodland. Sleeping up to 4 people, the Arc mixes homely and rustic touches with luxury.

This marvellous property is the perfect place for peace and relaxation on the banks of the River Nene. Natural touches are felt throughout, from the beautiful handmade furniture crafted from reclaimed wood, to the vintage vases filled with foraged flowers.

After entering through the front door, reclaimed of course, guests walk into the large living area. A wood-burning stove greets those coming in to make the Arc ideal for all weather conditions, while the oak dining room table is perfect for entertaining. Some local treats will already be on hand in the country-style kitchen, along with cookbooks, antique saucepans, Belfast sink and long zinc worktop.

Walking through the bi-fold doors will take guests out onto the veranda, an great location for summer meals, an evening drink or simply to take in the stunning surroundings. There is even the chance of spotting a red kite or kingfisher in flight, swans nesting, or badgers searching for food.

The bedroom has an antique French bed with quality linen and brightly coloured cushions, while a ladder leads up to the mezzanine and twin beds. In the bathroom there is a fabulous roll top double-ended bath and also a separate shower and WC.

Why not then take a stroll around the looped footpath that surrounds the island in the middle of the river? Many varieties of wildlife can be spotted here, including otters. Then make sure you head on for a further 10 minutes to the nearby Crown pub, or get collected at the Queens Head and go on a river adventure with picnic supplied by the inn. For those wanting to go a little further afield the market town of Stamford is worth a visit, while history buffs will enjoy Elton Hall and Fotheringhay Castle.
