The Details...

Escape to the East Sussex countryside in one of two cabins at Swallowtail Hill. These two identical timber abodes, known as Wood and Penfold, sit in the heart of the farm and share a pretty paddock but without encroaching on each other's privacy.

Each cabin comprises of one carefully designed room. There is a double bed and then two further seating areas that can be converted to sleep two more people; all of which have been carefully handcrafted using beautiful local wood. Up-cycling continues throughout with apple crates being used as bedside tables and an old trunk for storage. A wood burning stove keeps the property toasty even on those cold winter nights, while meals can be prepared in the quaint kitchen with a two ring gas hob and grill. There is also all the necessary crockery, cutlery and utensils required, as well as a cool box for food and drink.

The cabins are completely off the grid and have no electricity supply, but rechargeable lanterns are supplied. Outside there is a firepit and cooking space, as well as a shared covered kitchen prep and washing up area and a covered dining space. Here guests will also find eco-friendly guests will find the shared log fire heated shower and two compost loos.

Although self catering, upon arrival guests will discover a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cereal and kitchen condiments. Breakfast and barbecue boxes full of locally produced organic ingredients are also available to order, as are picnics, afternoon teas and suppers. For that something even more special there is a chef onsite who can prepare meals ready to be reheated on the barbecue.

On the farm, which is surrounded by wildflower meadows, ancient woodland and hedgerows, there is an honesty shop for snacks, treats and campfire supplies and the opportunity to meet the animals, from donkeys to pygmy goats.
