Sunnydell Cottage is hidden in a pretty woodland glade, surrounded by grand oak trees and soaring pines. Its large, flourishing gardens are designed for hazy summer days, where you can picnic amongst the grasses and let the hammocks sway. Games are on-hand to keep the kids entertained and are joined by a heated, outdoor pool for cooling-off in.

Sunnydell guests have access to two separate buildings and includes the original cottage and its oak-clad stables. The charming cottage is over 250 years old and has a quirky character with traditional features. Uneven walls hold up the knotted timbers, while low-slung ceilings guard hidden alcoves. Picture busy breakfasts in the kitchen and barbeques on the terrace, along with late nights in the sitting room beside the roaring fireplace.

Scattered around the cottage are three gorgeous bedrooms, including two cosy doubles and a little twin. The ground floor double comes with its own garden terrace and has a modern en-suite with deluxe, shower fittings. Upstairs in the rafters, there’s also a lovely double and a twin which share the large family bathroom back down on the ground floor. The compact twin is ideal for the kids and has one comfy single bed and a smaller half-size mattress.

Just across the lawn (by about 20 metres) are the stables, recently renovated in oak. There is an office/reading/music room, which has full length bi-fold doors and looks onto the lawns facing the house. This room is perfect for spa treatments. There are two playrooms; one for big kids with table tennis, yoga mats and another one with with teepee and toys for smaller kids. The latter also has full length bi-folds and a good bathroom which can also be used as a shower/change room for the pool.

There is a garage which also has a garaged area for bikes, prams, mobility equipment and dog stuff. This can also be locked up.

Beyond your garden gate you can uncover the mysteries of the forest, with its ancient paths, secret caves and endless, nature trails. Meet the wild ponies in the fields or the deer darting amongst the trees, along with the local pigs foraging and the friendly cattle grazing. Windswept beaches are also just a few miles further and are perfect for desert island adventures and seaside scavenging.
