The Details

Sleeping up to six guests, this fabulous Grade II listed barn offers the perfect setting for your next break with family and friends. Located in a peaceful slice of Dorset countryside in the Cranborne Chase National Landscape, this home-from-home features grand social areas, with lots to see and do on your doorstep.

When you arrive, gather in the open-plan living space. Here, super-high ceilings, rustic wooden beams and exposed brickwork give the place plenty of character, whilst big windows and sliding glass doors connect you to the picturesque garden outside. There’s even underfloor heating throughout, ensuring you stay toasty and warm.

Unwind with your loved ones on the comfy sofas that are perfectly positioned for gazing out at the farm views. This is a lovely spot to enjoy an evening tipple or a morning coffee planning the day ahead. When tummies rumble, head to the modern kitchen, that’s nicely equipped with all the appliances and amenities you’ll need to whip up a feast. There’s also a kitchen island here, where you can lean with a drink and keep your designated chef company. When dinner’s ready, serve it up on the dining table that sits in the middle of this space, and sets the scene for lovely social meals as a group.

The property is all on one storey, meaning the bedrooms are all on the ground floor. There are three delightful bedrooms on offer, one of which has its own roll-top bathtub for indulgent evening soaks. Two of the bedrooms have super-king beds and one has a king bed.

Stepping outside, you’re situated on the edge of the river with an enclosed yard that’s currently being re-wilded to encourage pollinators. This is a great place to unwind in the fresh Dorset air as you take in your surroundings in peace.

When it comes to venturing out, the Cranborne Chase National Landscape is a hidden gem for slow adventures and nature lovers. Wander through ancient chalk downlands, where wildflowers bloom and red kites soar. Discover atmospheric ruins like Old Wardour Castle, or lose yourself in the whispering woods of Martin Down. Picnic under the trees at the magical Larmer Tree Gardens or hike the Dorset Cursus for a touch of prehistory. As night falls, stay out a little longer - this is one of Britain’s best spots for stargazing and the owners provide you with a stargazing kit!
