  The Detail...

When Memory House was first built back in 1890 it was the only property on Woolacombe esplanade and, despite other properties popping up, the spectacular views of the Woolacombe sands remain unchanged, apart from the odd surfer or two. This breathtaking period home is full of charm and character but has been stylishly and thoughtfully renovated ensuring guests enjoy traditional style with the modern comforts.

Step through the large doorway of this double fronted property into a grand hallway where you are greeted by a grand stairway which sweeps upstairs to the four beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Huge windows fill the property with light in every room, and 3.5 metre high ceilings add to the grandeur of the house. Almost every window offers guests views of the sea, perfect for wet weather days.

Wake up in the morning and enjoy breakfast whilst watching the surfers catching early waves and spend the evening sipping cocktails as the sun slides into the sea.
The kitchen and living area are open plan and a huge, gorgeous corner sofa makes the perfect spot to relax and take in the views. The Stephen Graver kitchen is stylish, modern and wonderfully well-equipped, making cooking an absolute pleasure.

On warmer evenings, take dinner outside onto the fabulous wrap-around terrace. Or relax with a drink in the hot tub and listen to the roar of the sea. When it's time for bed there are two glorious master bedrooms with super king beds, 250 thread count linen, large bay windows and large en-suite bathrooms. Two further bedrooms share a bathroom on the top floor. One is a comfortable double and another a lovely children's room with a single bed, plus a second full sized pull-out single bed, and a tiny piano to occupy any early risers.

Woolacombe is popular spot for surfers but its long sandy beach makes it a great choice for those holidaying with children. The beach often makes the top spot in Britain's best beach polls and is a wonderful stretch of golden sand.

Wander along the windswept sands to Putsborough beach and stop at The Rock Inn in Georgeham for some refreshment before heading back to Woolacombe. Nearby Ilfracombe is popular traditional seaside fishing village which has recently enjoyed the attentions of Damien Hurst, whose bronze sculpture 'Verity' is on long term loan to the town and is positioned pride of place on the promenade overlooking the ocean.

Please note: During the festive period 2020 we have a change over day of Monday 21/28th Dec

COVID-19 continues to cause heartache and upheaval in all our lives. As a result, we have chosen to increase the options open to you, our valuable guest, to enable you to make choices for you and your family members in reference to the holidays you take with us.
As of today, if you have a booking that starts after December 2nd, 2020 at Parade House, and we enter another lockdown or your address moves into tier 3 or above, we are offering you the chance to move your stay to another date, free of charge, to when hopefully the current pandemic is over or managed. Any increase in costs (e.g. moving from off-peak to peak) will be required to be met by you, the guest.
We are also able to provide (as an alternative to moving your holiday dates) a credit voucher, to be redeemed any time within 12 months, should you be unsure when you want to move the booking.
(Should you wish to seek reimbursement for your stay you should approach your insurance company).
We are constantly monitoring the situation, but our current terms and conditions apply.
We wish you every kind wish from Devon and all of us at Parade House and hope that we can see you in Woolacombe Devon (metaphorically at least) very soon.

David says...
"After staying at 'The View' a couple of years ago, we decided to revisit Woolacombe with some friends and booked the larger (main house) 'Memory House'. I cannot begin to describe how beautiful this property is. It's one of the areas most historic buildings which the owners have done a wonderful job of restoring. Every room is bright and welcoming and even the kids immediately felt at home in what is a quite a large property. The location is to die for, with the beach being just the other side of the glazing (yes.. it really is that close). The garden is beautifully maintained and is equipped with a large hot-tub - perfect for relaxing with a glass of vino at the end of a days surfing.
I really felt quite sad leaving Wollacombe at the end of our stay but we're already looking forward to returning next year when we'll create new memories."

Alex Heslip says...
"We had the most fantastic week at Memory House. The property is just fantastic, very well set up for a big family (we have 6 children!)
Everything has been done to a very high standard and the house is very well kitted out with everything you need (for cooking/bbq, etc.)
Being situated only a few hundred yards from the beach meant that we could nip out for evening swims.
The house is situated really conveniently near the centre of Woolacombe so it's only a short walk to the surf schools, shops & restaurants, etc.
We will return in 2020!"
