When Memory House was first built back in 1890 it was the only property on Woolacombe esplanade and, despite other properties popping up, the spectacular views of the Woolacombe sands remain unchanged, apart from the odd surfer or two. This breathtaking period home is full of charm and character but has been stylishly and thoughtfully renovated ensuring guests enjoy traditional style with the modern comforts.
Step through the large doorway of this double fronted property into a grand hallway where you are greeted by a grand stairway which sweeps upstairs to the four beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Huge windows fill the property with light in every room, and 3.5 metre high ceilings add to the grandeur of the house. Almost every window offers guests views of the sea, perfect for wet weather days.
Wake up in the morning and enjoy breakfast whilst watching the surfers catching early waves and spend the evening sipping cocktails as the sun slides into the sea.
The kitchen and living area are open plan and a huge, gorgeous corner sofa makes the perfect spot to relax and take in the views. The Stephen Graver kitchen is stylish, modern and wonderfully well-equipped, making cooking an absolute pleasure.
On warmer evenings, take dinner outside onto the fabulous wrap-around terrace. Or relax with a drink in the hot tub and listen to the roar of the sea. When it's time for bed there are two glorious master bedrooms with super king beds, 250 thread count linen, large bay windows and large en-suite bathrooms. Two further bedrooms share a bathroom on the top floor. One is a comfortable double and another a lovely children's room with a single bed, plus a second full sized pull-out single bed, and a tiny piano to occupy any early risers.
Woolacombe is popular spot for surfers but its long sandy beach makes it a great choice for those holidaying with children. The beach often makes the top spot in Britain's best beach polls and is a wonderful stretch of golden sand.
Wander along the windswept sands to Putsborough beach and stop at The Rock Inn in Georgeham for some refreshment before heading back to Woolacombe. Nearby Ilfracombe is popular traditional seaside fishing village which has recently enjoyed the attentions of Damien Hurst, whose bronze sculpture 'Verity' is on long term loan to the town and is positioned pride of place on the promenade overlooking the ocean.
Each Property has a private patio with it's own private hot tub. We have the contact details for a Baby Sitter and Private Chef

Book with Confidence
We understand that the constantly changing Covid-19 situation is creating a lot of uncertainty and that you may be nervous about what would happen in the event of a National Lockdown, Restrictions in Your Area or Restrictions in the North Devon Area. We are here to reassure you that you can book with confidence, safe in the knowledge that you can flex your travel plans if the disruption caused by the Covid-19 coronavirus means that you are unable to come and stay with us.
We can't say exactly what will happen with the current outbreak and when we might be 'open for business' again, but we can confirm that we are here to help and to look after you every step of the way, from start to finish, with support whenever you need it.
We know that peace of mind and flexibility are key to ensuring that you feel confident booking a holiday with us, so we have been working hard to ensure our service is as flexible as possible if you are unable to join us as a result of Covid-19. In summary, should you be unable to come to Parade House as a result of a National Lockdown, restrictions to travel in your home area or restrictions to travel in the North Devon area we can offer the following: -
• We agree to postponing your holiday with no change fee.
• We will honour the rates of your 2021
• We will offer a full refund if no suitable dates are available*
*only available for bookings direct with Parade House Woolacombe as agency fees may apply.
It should be noted that once you have placed your booking, you have booked your property in its entirety, regardless of the number of guests (up to the properties limit) you wish to include. This means that if local or national restrictions, around number of households allowed to share/number of people allowed to mix, in indoor settings are impacted, the booking would remain viable.
Many of our guests thus far have opted to move the dates of their booking and we are grateful for this. If you have made your final payment (to be made 30 days prior to your stay unless otherwise agreed), we can refund you, back to the deposit amount you paid, so that we do not hold large sums of monies for extended periods of time against your booking. Please email us if this affects your booking. Please note: any increase in costs (e.g. moving from off-peak to peak) will be required to be met by you, the guest, (however we will not apply price increases to the same date booked for next year if it has increased due to a price increase).

After staying at 'The View' a couple of years ago, we decided to revisit Woolacombe with some friends and booked the larger (main house) 'Memory House'. I cannot begin to describe how beautiful this property is. It's one of the areas most historic buildings which the owners have done a wonderful job of restoring. Every room is bright and welcoming and even the kids immediately felt at home in what is a quite a large property. The location is to die for, with the beach being just the other side of the glazing (yes.. it really is that close). The garden is beautifully maintained and is equipped with a large hot-tub - perfect for relaxing with a glass of vino at the end of a days surfing. I really felt quite sad leaving Wollacombe at the end of our stay but we're already looking forward to returning next year when we'll create new memories.

We had the most fantastic week at Memory House. The property is just fantastic, very well set up for a big family (we have 6 children!) Everything has been done to a very high standard and the house is very well kitted out with everything you need (for cooking/bbq, etc.) Being situated only a few hundred yards from the beach meant that we could nip out for evening swims. The house is situated really conveniently near the centre of Woolacombe so it's only a short walk to the surf schools, shops & restaurants, etc. We will return in 2020!
