The Details...

Join the stylish upper classes of early 20th century Croatia, by exploring this magnificent, stone villa in the heart of Dubrovnik. With classical architecture and exquisite features, it is an exclusive city home dating back to the 1930’s. Its high ceilings and grand proportions are typical of the era and were a sign of wealth and prosperity for the elitists in society. Set in lush Mediterranean gardens and with views over the city, it is a luxurious place to discover Croatia’s natural beauty.

The Old Captain’s Villa is chiselled from thick, local stone and has sublime outside terraces overlooking the Old Town. Explore the pretty, walled courtyard or the expansive sundeck and you’ll find a steaming, open-air hot tub and plenty of sun beds. Secret, little spots are joined by large, open balconies, making it perfect for group get-togethers or private moments. Enjoy a chilled-out afternoon or an al fresco evening dinner, before watching the sunset with its crimson glimmer.

Beyond its aromatic gardens and elegant facade, is a spacious villa that has a chic, period glamour. Sumptuous living and dining areas adorn the ground floor and include a formal drawing room and a traditional, Croatian kitchen. Original features have been restored to their former glory and join classic colour schemes and sophisticated furnishings. Handpicked antiques fill each and every room, and sit beside immaculate parquet flooring and beautiful furniture. Relax in your own private library or seek out the basement gym and sauna, before throwing open the doors onto the stunning panoramas.

Five charming, double bedrooms can be found spread across the villa with their own unique en-suite bathrooms and views over the city. Choose from four-poster beds and vintage, tiled bathrooms, along with sea-view terraces and super-soft bedding. Three additional single beds can also be set up on request, making it an ideal rental for up to fifteen guests.

Dubrovnik is a majestic city in the south of Croatia that is known for its ancient walls and its rich and colourful history. Brimming with crumbling castles and characterful streets, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of great cultural significance. Visit the distinctive Baroque churches or the striking Minceta Fortress, before visiting the five-star restaurants and the fashionable harbour.
