Sand Hutton, York
Stylish, modern and full of character - a lovely barn conversion in a pretty Yorkshire village.
Please note: minimum stay for this property is: 3 nights low season & 7 nights high season
In a quaint village, close to the historic city of York, and a short journey from the inspirational Yorkshire Moors and pretty Dales, is this stylish, yet comfortable and welcoming two-bedroom barn conversion.
The owners have meticulously fitted and furnished the property to ensure guests have a wonderful stress-free stay. They have styled the interior to maintain the barn's character and have created a modern, industrial-chic inspired space.
Guests step directly into a lobby area, exposed brick, aged planks and fashionable dark walls introduce visitors to the chic style which continues throughout. The lobby gives visitors space for pulling off muddy boots and wriggling out of coats before stepping into the warm and welcoming living area.
Two large, squishy velvet sofas await tired limbs ready to lounge in this relaxing space. The sofas sit on wooden boards, covered in cosy rugs, and exposed beams add character. A vaulted ceiling and big windows ensure the room is filled with natural light, while thick curtains and a wood burning fire keep any evening chills at bay. Houseplants, trendy art works and plenty of luxurious scatter cushions and sheepskin throws give a personal touch and make the barn a real home from home. To one side of this spacious area stands a large wooden dining table, with benches and chairs for enjoying family dinners after long days roaming the moors.
Cooks will love the stylish and well-equipped kitchen. Exposed brick, copper fixtures and metal framed shelves continue the industrial-chic theme. Patio doors offer views out into the lovely courtyard area where guests can enjoy morning coffee or sip a mug of cocoa while admiring the night sky.
When bedtime beckons, there are two beautiful bedrooms to chose from both exquisitely styled. The double, en-suite, room has a soft pink theme, relaxing and luxurious with thick velvet curtains and an upholstered sleigh-style headboard. There are French doors ready to be thrown open, straight onto the pretty courtyard, to bring in the fresh air of a new day. The second bedroom is equally lovely. Feature wallpaper depicting flocks of swifts, a small library hidden behind aged-timber doors, and a flat screen television offers entertainment. There is also a sofa for guests searching for some quiet time to enjoy the library. There is an additional family bathroom with a double ended bath.
The barn is situated in the pretty village of Sand Hutton. The stunning Castle Howard, the location for many television series and films including Bridgerton, is a short drive away. And for shops, restaurants and history, a day in York is a must, as is a visit to Betty's, the famous tearooms.
