The Details...

In the heart of Thurlestone, in coastal Devon, an area celebrated for its natural beauty and seaside charm, Lower Goosewell Cottage is a high-end self-catering cottage with exquisite views of the surrounding countryside. With the South West Coastal Path running alongside, this is the perfect destination for families and friends looking to spend time visiting the beaches and coastline of this marvellous county in luxury.

Internally, the dcor is contemporary and classic, with an open fire and comfortable sofa. The kitchen is modern, and outfitted with a broad array of amenities, making cooking a real delight. You can enjoy your lovely meals at the beautifully preserved antique dining table, or take them outside to dine alfresco on the furnished patio.

Upstairs, each of the three bedrooms benefits from its own distinct style. The master bedroom comes with a quirky dressing nook, currently set up with a bureau, and enjoying enviable views of the surrounding topography. This bedroom is finished in white, and other neutral tones, and is softly lit by an overhead chandelier. The large windows ensure that natural light pours in, and there's even a wall-mounted television facing the bed. There is also an en-suite bathroom with fitted fixtures, a full-sized bath, and clean, sharp tiling. The other two bedrooms are set up with twin-singles, and one benefits from an en-suite bathroom. The final bedroom is also arranged with twin beds, and has its own television.

While the sea air and views create a soothing feeling of peace and quiet, youll be pleased to learn that shops and pubs are just a short distance away. The Village Inn is a charming pub to walk to for a pint of local beer, while you can stock up on sundries from the village shop. Several of Devons most celebrated beaches are nearby, including Bantham Beach, a designated Area of Natural Beauty with views over Bigbury Bay and Burgh Island - the setting for two Agatha Christie novels. This island can be walked to at low tide, and is accessible via a thrilling sea tractor ride when the tide comes in.

While the stunning art deco hotel is reserved for guests, The 700 year old Pilchard Inn is a must, where you can enjoy Devon oysters and some remarkable Westcountry beers. For families with younger children, Pennywell Farm is a visitor-friendly working farm, where a range of interactive activities like sing-a-longs and lamb feeding represent a great day out. Of course one of the draws of this region is the Thurlestone Links Golf Course; guests will be delighted to find that Lower Goosewell Cottage has direct access to the course and Yarmer beach just beyond it.
