The Details...

Nestled into the Hyning Estate on the edge of Kendal in Cumbria, Hyning House offers up an elegant escape for large groups or families. Two cottages are linked to create this fabulous space - and with with two living rooms, two kitchens and two dining areas, theres plenty of room to spread out. With exquisite attention to detail and impeccable green credentials, its hardly surprising that Hyning Estate have scooped up an award or two on the way - from Visit England Gold to Green Tourism Gold and Cumbria Tourism winner.

The open plan lounge areas boast large comfortable sofas, Morso wood burning stoves and limestone flag flooring. And the beautiful exposed beams simply ooze character and charm. The property also happily embraces the modern with LED TVs, blu-ray players and DAB media players.

The two kitchens are both impeccable with granite worktops, wooden units and traditional Butler sinks. The high-end finish is instantly evident and youll be pleased to discover that the practical elements are just as impressive, with state of the art appliances including induction hobs, integrated double ovens, dishwashers and washer/dryers.

A handsome dining room makes the perfect setting for a celebratory meal. With a large wooden table, floor to ceiling windows and views out over the Hyning Estate. Easily seating up to twenty, it really is a breathtaking space.

The house sleeps up to twelve in six bedrooms - two doubles (one ensuite, one with a rooftop patio), one king (with ensuite) one twin room and two rooms with bunk beds. The bedrooms are all charming and showcase the same gorgeous attention to detail, with crisp white linen, cosy textiles and pretty cottage windows. The bespoke staggered oak bunk beds are beautiful - the perfect space for any younger guests.

As well as the two ensuite bathrooms (both with baths) there are a further two family bathrooms, each with a large walk-in shower, marble sink units and fluffy white towels.

Located near Kendal, the gateway to The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, there is plenty to get out and explore. Rather handily, there is a library of Hyning Estate guests favourite local walks. And in the same wonderful attention to detail that is shown throughout this home, the walks have all been digitised so you can upload them into a handheld GPS or mobile phone app. Once youre done exploring the landscape then there are plenty of pubs and restaurants waiting to be discovered in nearby Kendal. Dont forget to stock up on some of its famous mint cake before you head home!
