Relax and unwind amidst the trees in this treehouse yurt that sits in the lovely Northumberland countryside.
Enjoy a truly bespoke experience not quite like any other at Houlet The Treehouse Yurt. Part of the Wild Northumbrian holiday resort, those staying can switch off from the stresses of everyday life while being surrounded by breathtaking scenery and a stunning landscape.
The Houlet Yurt is a little different from others on the site in that it is built in the treetops. Set on an elevated platform, it sleeps up to six people with a maximum of two adults. The yurt itself is handcrafted and fully insulated so guests stay warm and dry inside regardless of the weather outside and the window means you can look at the starry sky above and feel at one with nature.
Inside it's been furnished with local reclaimed furniture, organic rugs, and sheepskins for those cosy nights in. The wooden king size bed is handcrafted, while there is a separate futon mattress which is perfect for children. There's also a table and chairs, as well as a wood burning stove to not only keep the yurt toasty and warm, but also for keeping kettles and pans hot. A camping stove and array of pots, pans, crockery, and cutlery allows those staying to create some culinary delights. Logs, kindling, and firelighters are all provided and there are also candle holders and candles for that added romance.
In the shower and toilet block by the main house, the yurt has its own dedicated bathroom complete with a shower, toilet, sink, and underfloor heating. There is also a kitchen area with a cooker for when the stove doesn’t quite suffice, as well as your own shelf in a fridge.
Of course, the real charm of Houlet Yurt is being so close to the great outdoors and this is aided by a separate stargazing platform accessed from the front door. Located in its own secluded area of Wild Northumbrian, on ground level there is a firepit and seating area, as well as a hammock for enjoying an afternoon snooze or to read a good book.
As it is situated in the Northumberland National Park and close to Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders, there are plenty of walking and cycling trails to explore making this a nature lover's dream.
