The detail

In the heart of the beautiful and tranquil Shropshire countryside, Hollins Barns is a former agricultural barn, since converted by its current owners into spacious and ultra-comfortable self-catering accommodation. This property is ideal for families and pairs of couple looking to spend time in a luxurious farmhouse-style property close to Shrewsbury. With a tennis court, two ponds, wildflower meadows and stunning views of the surrounding hills and organic farmland, this is a dreamy escape which feels immediately restorative and profoundly peaceful.

On the ground floor, the living and kitchen spaces judiciously combine the grand and impressive architectural features with subtle modern finishes, creating a high-ceilinged and airy pair of rooms which are a treat to cook, dine, or simply spend time in. With exposed beams overhead, direct access from the kitchen onto one of the two terraces, and large windows, there is a real sense of the wonderful Shropshire countryside coming into the space.

The kitchen is equipped with an Everhot cooker, and large fridge freezer, complete with icemaker, as well as a dishwasher and ample surfaces for prepping delicious family meals to eat around the central wooden table. In the next door living room, an engineered wood-burning stove provides a real sense of cosiness, especially in the winter months. In this room you'll also find the 42" Wi-Fi enabled Smart TV, and a wide selection of books, to curl up with on the L-shaped sofa. On the same floor you'll find the Bunk Room, a bedroom set up with a super-king sized bed below, and a single bunk above, making this an ideal room for couples, children, or parents of younger children.

Upstairs, you'll find two more bedrooms, each with impressive views and super-king sized beds, one of which is a timber four-poster. In the lengthy space between the two rooms, you'll also find a semi-private space with a sofa-bed which can be pulled out to accommodate additional guests.

With its tennis court, swimming pond and rolling meadows, Hollins Barn is a great property for holidaymakers looking to spend time outdoors, relaxing in the wild, swimming, and taking in the Shropshire air. The nearest road is a mile away, and the peace and quiet is extraordinary, especially if you've arrived from the city. The medieval town of Shrewsbury is just six miles, twenty minutes by car. In Shrewsbury there are independent shops and a number of brilliant cafes, bars and restaurants. If you're in town on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday, check out the award winning market. Barkworths Seafood stall is particularly good for lunch.
