Sleeping up to 14 guests, this marvellous home on the coast in Cornwall is ideal for your next group getaway. Headlands is the charming eastern half of an original 1930s house that has been thoughtfully extended and modernised over the years.
Stepping inside, you’ll love the warm and stylish interior that welcomes you and your loved ones, encouraging you to unwind as soon as you arrive. The main hub of the home is the generous kitchen and breakfast room. This lovely space is nicely equipped for whipping up delicious feasts and offers incredible views out to sea. Gather round the dining table and enjoy hearty meals together whilst taking in the view.
If you fancy a moment of peace then there’s a cosy sitting room where you can get comfy with a good book. However, if you want to gather together with more of your loved ones, then the larger sitting room has three oversized sofas and a grand fireplace to keep you warm and toasty all year round.
One of the house’s most delightful features is the Rudder Room – accessed by a small stair hidden behind an old ship’s rudder. This attic-style dormitory, sleeping four, is a hit with children (and grown-ups alike) who relish its cosy charm. On the ground floor, there is a twin with one pull out mattress and an ensuite, designed for accessibility. Completing the ground floor are a walk-in shower room, WC and a drying room – perfect for wet beach gear.
Upstairs, the first floor hosts the master bedroom with a king size bed and incredible coastal views stretching all the way to Devon. Then there's another king bedroom and a twin bedroom with an additional daybed if needed. The upstairs bedrooms offer lovely sea views, along with a shared bathroom and a separate WC.
For added convenience, Headlands has a basement equipped with a washing machine, dryer, extra fridge and deep freezer. There’s also plenty of space for log and coal storage.
The outdoor space at Headlands is just as inviting and with direct access to the beach, you can be dipping your toes in the sea in moments. Step out into the expansive garden which provides the perfect setting for outdoor games, while two large picnic tables offer the ideal spot for alfresco dining, allowing you to enjoy hearty lunches breathing in that fresh sea air. There are also four sun loungers so you can relax and unwind in the sunshine whilst taking in the view.
On top of all of this, you also have access to a newly resurfaced, hard-court tennis court in the nearby field, shared with the neighbouring houses. There’s no booking system, so it operates on a trust basis, with everyone encouraged to respect each other’s use of the court and wear appropriate footwear.
Harlyn Bay, on Cornwall's stunning north coast, offers plenty to explore. Its wide, sandy beach is perfect for surfing, paddleboarding and family beach days. Nearby, the South West Coast Path offers scenic walks with breathtaking views. Visit Padstow for seafood, boat trips and cycling the Camel Trail, or explore historic sites like Prideaux Place and Trevose Head Lighthouse.
