A beautifully appointed house surrounded by Peak District countryside, Goldcrest can comfortably accommodate up to eight adults and four children. This luxurious property is within easy reach of local highlights including Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, and just a 5-minute drive from Bakewell.
Goldcrest is situated in the village of Stanton in Peak, and enjoys the most magnificent views of the surroundings. With its own spacious garden, the property’s hillside location is quiet, idyllic and a short walk from a lovely village pub. There’s a large lawn which is ideal for children to play on, as well as seating and a barbecue.
Inside, things look just as impressive. An open-plan living area makes a stunning centrepiece. There is a dual-aspect log burner positioned between an elegant dining space and a cosy lounge with sumptuous sofa seating and wall-mounted TV. The kitchen forms part of the same extensive space, kitted out with high-spec appliances and an eye-catching marble-topped island. And, because all of these are located on the upper floor of the house, they enjoy the most incredible country views too.
Also on this level are a couple of rooms the children are sure to love: a games room with pool table and TV, and a cosy snug with TV, DVD and sofas.
On the ground floor, you will find the four luxurious bedrooms, each one with its own en suite bathroom. Each room can be used as either a double or twin, giving lots of flexibility, and all have a wall-mounted TV as well as either a dressing area or a large wardrobe. Two extra sofa-beds can also be provided in the larger rooms. All the bathrooms have a shower, with a couple also offering a separate bath tub.
The local area just couldn’t be better for walking or cycling – the beautiful scenery extends in all directions, so whichever one you pick, you can’t go wrong. Within walking distance is the Nine Ladies Stone Circle on Stanton Moor, a Bronze Age favourite, and the award-winning Flying Childers Inn, where you can enjoy a drink by the fireside or in the pretty garden.
A little further afield, there’s much more to uncover. Pretty Bakewell, the spa town of Buxton and cable car adventures across the Heights of Abraham are all sure-fire bets for a great day out.
