The Details...

On arrival at Godney Arts House, step into a wide hallway, that leads you into a feast of art, unique design and retro furniture, at this home unlike any other. From the hall, step into a country kitchen, complete with an inglenook fireplace and flagstone floors, plus everything you need to cook whilst youre away. Then from the kitchen, walk under the archway into the sunny south facing living room and dining room, with copper dining table and velvet sofas arranged around a log burner, and set inside a marble fireplace; surely a perfect spot for keeping warm on winter nights.

Wide stairs lead up to the first floor bedroom 1, with a south facing window to let in plenty of light, plus the option of either a super king size bed or twin beds, depending on your party. There is also an ensuite shower room. Also on this floor, is a double aspect bedroom 2, with views to the Mendip hills at the front, and the river and garden at the back. A king size bed, freestanding bath, ensuite loo and living area with chairs and a table, make this room a real delight.

In the area, you'll find a great local pub, serving up delicious food, and only a two minute walk away. There is also a traditional cider farm only 3 miles away, and a wetland nature reserve that features a fantastic spot to spy a starling murmuration. "A fabulous, fabulous house with an idyllic garden which proved a haven in the heat wave. Beautifully decorated with much to admire. There was a great deal of discussion about our favourite part but too hard to make a final decision. Cannot fault it. Or Jane and Simon who were wonderful hosts. Sourdough from local bakery and Sheppey Inn both highly recommended."

"Flaming June it was not! Godney Arts House delivered in wonderful style to make up for it though. We would highly recommend it if you are looking for peace and quiet with some pampering included. If cooking is not your forte the Sheppey Inn is two minutes walk away with a great menu and choice of beverages. The house would comfortably sleep eight and comes with three bathrooms."

"What a wonderful place! Stayed here for 5 days and had a fabulous time. The house is gorgeous and Jane the owner was very helpful giving us info on where to go, places to see etc. The pub (literally 2 mins walk away) was brilliant, great food.
and really quirky/funky. The house was really funky, beds were very comfortable and everything there that you need. Lovely garden to sit and drink fizz in and have a relax! Will definitely be booking again."
