Tucked away in a tranquil corner of the jaw-dropping Scottish Highlands is Glenorchy Farm, a working eco-friendly farm and luxury accommodation site rolled into one. The farm is home to two luxury log cabins, Tom Barr and Lairig, both of which can sleep up to four adults or a family of five. Nestled in a huge tract of untouched Highland wilderness, Glenorchy makes for an ideal hub for exploring the mountains and rivers that embrace the property.
With bodycare products provided by the local Highland Soap company and wood finishing in the cabins made from Scottish-sourced Douglas fir, Glenorchy's commitment to supporting local industry is not only better for sustainability, but their extensive collaboration with Scottish small businesses and use of local raw materials creates a uniquely rustic Highland atmosphere that you will love throughout your stay. It's fair to say that staying at Glenorchy is truly a feast for the senses; in addition to the sweeping mountain and river views from both cabins, Tom Barr and Lairig also sport wood-fired Swedish hot tubs so you can unplug and unwind in style.
Glenorchy is the perfect choice for guests looking for a relaxed, self-catered nature retreat. Both the roomy Tom Barr and Lairig cabins are kitted out with fully-equipped kitchens, idyllic mountain and river views, wood-burning stoves for rustic warmth on winter nights and, as mentioned above, those lovely wood-fired Swedish hot tubs for a bit of a self-pampering. The wood-finished cabins are both able to sleep four adults or a family of five, boasting both single and double beds for varied, flexible sleeping arrangements. Each cabin features a king size bed in the master bedroom and a comfortable pull-out double in the sitting area. There's also a pull-out single bed in the mezzanine.
You'll find that Glenorchy is also ideally placed for exploring some of the Scottish Highlands' best-kept secrets, no matter the time of year. With whitewater kayaking rivers, lochs ideal for fishing and swimming, biking and walking trails and ski resorts all within close proximity of the property, you're truly spoilt for choice when it comes to outdoor activities at Glenorchy. The Farm is also a 45-minute drive away from the iconic Glen Coe and about an hour and 15 minutes from Ben Nevis, both of which are well worth a visit for anyone wanting to sample some of Scotland's most dramatic scenery.
If you're keen to explore the region's local history and landmarks, Glenorchy is a stone's throw away from some of Scotland's most renowned and best-preserved castles, including Castles Kilchurn, Inverary and Stalker.
