The Detail...
Come experience the English countryside at its most tranquil at Frieda and the Moon, where the attention to detail is eclipsed only by the consideration of your comfort. This delightful 13-acre smallholding offers guests a choice of two utterly unique, but equally enchanting, mini-houses. Lying in the unspoiled Cornish countryside, with gorgeous valley landscapes, this is a couple’s-only getaway that will relax even the most over-active minds.
The Tabernacle, complete with its own little spire, is bedecked in Cornish tin. Specially designed to provide the utmost comfort, the interior has been carefully considered to give off a quaint air with a familiar vintage style. You’ll drift off on a luxurious king size bed, underneath a beautifully designed stained-glass window. On the outside, the Tabernacle is surrounded by timber decking, so you can enjoy the views of the adjacent valley. You’re sure to feel right at home as you unwind in your own little church.
The Observatory blends quaint, with industrial, with new age, to create a character completely of its own. The exterior is a mix of copper and zinc, with hammered lead detailing, to lend it a mechanic look. Stepping inside you will see that while the Observatory maintains the vintage feel of its sister-site, the subtle theme is one that alludes to astronomy and the cosmos, with each of its glass portholes representing the six phases of the moon. Above the king size bed sits the “sky window”. Through this huge skylight you can lie in bed and gaze at the stars all night long. Outside on the cobbled patio you’ll have the perfect place to relax, beside the wood-fired chiminea, as you gaze out onto the oil painting views of this Cornish wonderland.
While uniquely different, both glamping delights come with similar features, including luxury bathrooms, gas hobs, and their own little wood-burners. Each also comes with its own external cedarwood hot tub, so you can soak up the country views while you relax in the tub!
Should you wish to fill your time with something other than enjoying the wonderful serenity that it has to offer, your hosts offer mini drawing courses for all levels, with your own picnic! If you’d like to venture a little further, then the Cornish countryside is ideal for those who love a spot of hiking. And with its abundance of sleepy villages and small towns, you’ll be sure to find some lovely pubs and eateries. Why not take a short 10-minute drive to the nearby coastal town of Looe and see what it has to offer?
