Star in your very own storybook romance at this fairy-tale Tabernacle in the rustic West Country. With its picture-perfect finish and sublime rural setting, it’s a magical backdrop for your happy ending. Imagine enchanted wildflower meadows and secluded open fields, with beautiful, wild deer prancing amongst the trees. Clear night skies roll on for as far as the eye can see and are adorned with the glistening stars from your sweetest dreams.

The Brownscombe Tabernacle is a captivating retreat, nestled on tranquil farmland in the glorious South Hams countryside. Whimsically crafted to look like an old Methodist Tabernacle, it has a pretty, hand-crafted porch and miniature bell tower. A stunning stained glass window catches in the light, while its quaint, curtained frames offer a glimpse inside.

Beyond the front door, it is a small and cosy hideout with combined living-sleeping quarters and a modern, en-suite bathroom. Its gorgeous interiors are brimming with a rich, vintage charm and boast woodland prints, quirky ceramics and luxurious furnishings. Curl up in the rocking chair beside the toasty wood burner or cook up a feast in the handmade kitchen. Complete with a sink, two ring hob and fridge with an ice box, it is well-equipped for uncomplicated cooking. In the evenings, you can even wrap up in the fur throws and woollen blankets, before retiring to your sumptuous bed topped with designer linen.

If all of that wasn’t enough then the garden is full of delights, with its steamy, wood-fired hot tub and BBQ fire pit. While away your lazy days sipping champagne amongst the bubbles, listening to the sound of birdsong and watching the wildlife blossom. As darkness falls and the night sky alights, you can toast marshmallows on the fire and watch the tawny owls take flight.

Head out past the garden gate to discover the idyllic Devonshire countryside, strolling through lush farmland pastures and buttercup meadows. Visit the traditional local pubs in the characterful towns and villages or head to the ‘English Riviera’ and its golden sandy beaches. Torbay and Dartmoor are just a short drive away, along with historic Totnes and the sleepy village of Marldon.

Back on the farm, there’s plenty to keep you entertained, including a games room, larder and authentic farmhouse scenery. Get a taste for country life by collecting eggs from the hutch, before picking up a hamper from the honesty shop. If you don’t fancy cooking then you can even have a home-cooked evening meal, served beside the roaring fire in the cosy, on-site Lodge.
