The Details...

Old meets new in the beautiful Perthshire countryside at Dun Aluinn House; a large luxury holiday home in Aberfeldy in Scotland. Built in 1909 the house sleeps 18 guests across nine bedrooms and has been extensively refurbished to the highest of standards.

The ground floor of the building is the social hub of the property and features several spaces for big groups. The lounge has long comfy sofas sitting in front of the open fire and with views out across the impressive grounds from the huge windows. There is a further TV snug with 48 inch screen, Sky, Netflix, and an X Box. The dining room and the drawing room sit alongside each other, with the former having a long 20-seater table and the latter with further comfy seating. The kitchen has a bespoke design with an island, large gas range cooker, American style fridge/freezer, two dishwashers, and two further freezers in the utility room.

The first of the nine bedrooms, Silver Birch, is also found on the ground floor and has a king size bed and en suite shower room. On the first floor four of the king size bedrooms - Wild Cherry, Holly, Oak, and Juniper - all have en suite wet rooms. Two more of the bedrooms, Willow and Scotspine, also have king size beds, en suite wet rooms, and freestanding baths within the bedroom with the former having views across the Tay Valley. The final two bedrooms, Elm and Hazel, are king size with en suite bathrooms and steam rooms and the latter has a four poster bed for some added luxury.

From the dining room there is access to the terrace through patio doors. From here there are views overlooking Aberfeldy and over the valley to Schiehallion. There are a further five acres of private grounds meaning you have plenty of space in which to spread out and enjoy the summer sunshine. There's even a secluded area of the grounds that hosts a wood fired hot tub, meaning you can sit back and relax after a long day out exploring the local area.

Aberfeldy itself is a pretty Highland town and is home to Dewar's distillery, while the watermill with its cafe and gallery is a unique experience. There are plenty of walking opportunities, including the 2 mile footpaths up to the Falls of Moness and a host of other outdoor activities for those seeking more adrenaline.
