Courtyard Cottage is your escape from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. Nestled in the rolling hills of Somerset, close to the borders of Dorset and Devon, it’s the perfect place to relax, recharge and reconnect with loved ones. The picture-perfect Grade-II listed cottage features a thatched roof, stone floors, whitewashed walls and exposed oak beams for that traditional feel.
As you open the old oak doors, you’re greeted with a spacious and open-plan living, kitchen and dining area that’s truly the heart of the home. The cottage-style kitchen is fully equipped with an Aga and is perfect for creating culinary delights at all times of the day. Whether it’s a hearty meal after a long day, or a refreshing breakfast after a great night’s sleep, there’s everything you need.
In the winter months, Courtyard Cottage is the perfect cosy escape from the cold wind and rain outside. Curl up on the plush sofas with a blanket and a warm drink to spend precious time with loved ones or relax in front of the TV. In the warmer months, the enclosed courtyard is a sun trap to unwind in, safe in the knowledge that the kids (or the dog!) are safe. Open a bottle and dine alfresco as the sun goes down over the Somerset countryside.
As the night draws in and you head upstairs, the two double bedrooms are perfect to drift off in. For the little ones, one double can be arranged into twin single beds. Sink into thick, luxury sheets and plan the next day exploring Somerset. As you wake to the sun pouring through the windows, refresh in the shared bathroom with a rain-head shower before heading downstairs for a fresh coffee.
Courtyard Cottage is perfectly located with plenty to do. Whether it’s exploring the lush countryside on foot, wandering the quaint nearby town of llminster, or grabbing a bite and a drink in one of the two local pubs, you’re never short of activities. Further afield, visit Barrington House, take in one of the many local cider houses, or head south to the world-famous Jurassic Coast.
