Situated in a stunning woodland outside of Bath, Campwell is a carefully designed low-impact eco-village containing a number of unique structures, available to rent for group sizes from single travellers or, if you book the entire space, parties of up to 21. Offering romantic and cosy accommodation right in the heart of one of Britain's most beautiful landscapes, Campwell is the ideal glamping spot for anybody looking to spend time in an alternative and low-impact environment.
Chief's Den is one of the most popular spots, three gorgeous adjoining yurts which share a beautiful timber decking in a clearing. The yurts have access to a private large living space, as well as a kitchen which boasts a wood-fired stove and oven, as well as wood-burner and your very own bathroom. Easily capable of accommodating as many as four guests, Chief's Den is a perfect spot for smaller families or couples.
Nearby The Village is a collection of hand-made yurts and log cabins plus a shepherd's hut and a round cobhouse. These can be individually booked by smaller parties, or The Village in its entirety can be booked by your party for your very own space, which is ideal for family reunions or other larger groups. All of these spaces share use of the shower and compost toilet facilities, as well as the kitchen and hot tub. They all have their very own firepit space and wood-burning stove, meaning whatever the weather, you're guaranteed a cosy and pleasing space to decompress.
Each of the shelters has their own design, aesthetic and character, from Cob Round with its living roof and circular central space, to the tine roofed Tay's Shepherd's Hut with its shiplap timber siding and quaint interior. Both Waney Cabin and Hairy Cabin make use of pleasing a-frame architecture, nestling into their surroundings and existing in peaceful harmony with the beautiful forests around them.
Visitors to Campwell have an extensive range of activities to choose from, ensuring that no matter what your interests are, you're guaranteed to find pleasure and relaxation at this self-contained eco-friendly off-grid village. From archery, cycling and paddle-boarding to more spiritually minded pursuits like yoga and massage, there is something here to revitalise mind, body and soul.
Take a foraging course with an expert local guide, or learn woodworking from a master craftsman, right here in the village. Alternatively, go out your own pace, and spend the day alone or with friends, picnicking on the nearby lake, between swims and hikes, before heading to the 17th century pub The Catherine Wheel, for great food and local ales, just a thirty five mi
