Brookside Lodge is a dreamy Cotswolds retreat that perfectly blends timeless charm with luxurious touches to offer groups of up to 14 guests a fantastic escape. This stunning property features a five-bedroom main house and a two-bedroom cottage, both built in classic Cotswold stone and set around a private courtyard. With elegant antique furnishings, White Company linens and indulgent Cotswold Lavender products, every detail has been thoughtfully curated for a truly relaxing stay.
Once a Victorian hunting lodge, the main house retains its period charm while offering modern luxury. The heart of the home is the breathtaking double-vaulted kitchen and dining room, equipped with a five-oven Aga, Gaggenau steam oven and seating for 12. This is the perfect place to unwind together as a group with a glass of wine in hand, or sit with a morning coffee and plan the day ahead gazing out of the big windows.
A crackling log-burning stove in the entrance hall provides a cosy spot to unwind, or you can get comfy in the luxurious lounge with its grand piano and big, deep sofas.
The two-bedroom cottage is equally enchanting, with an open log fire, separate dining room and beautiful views over the rolling Cotswold Hills. Originally part of the stables, it has a rich history, including serving as a refuge for evacuee children during the Second World War.
When night falls, the bedrooms are all beautifully designed with antique furnishings and super-comfy beds. Calming decor combines with luxury mattresses to guarantee a peaceful night’s rest.
Stepping outside, the gardens offer a tranquil haven, with the south-west-facing rear capturing stunning views and offering the perfect spot for evening sundowners. The heated outdoor pool and walled garden, bursting with David Austin roses, set the stage for idyllic afternoons, while the traditional Cotswold stone BBQ invites alfresco dining by the pool.
For fitness enthusiasts, the retro-style gym in the former Victorian stables is a standout. Fully equipped with a Peloton, pilates reformer, kickboxing ring and yoga mats, it’s perfect for wellness retreats – with private trainers available on request.
Set along the Winchcombe Way, Brookside Lodge offers incredible walks from your doorstep, with ample space for picnics and dog-friendly adventures. Laverton, a quaint village in the Cotswolds, offers several attractions for visitors. The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway passes near Laverton, providing scenic steam train journeys through the countryside. Nearby, Broadway Tower offers panoramic views and picturesque walks.
For wildlife enthusiasts, the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens is a short drive away, featuring diverse animal exhibits. Additionally, the village is intersected by the Winchcombe Way, a long-distance footpath ideal for hiking.

Leave a reviewWe have recently returned from a fantastic week in Brookside Lodge for a family 80th. We were at the last minute a slightly reduced group from the expected 13 to only 10 and ages ranged from 3-80. We used both the main house and the cottage for our group- both stunning yet homely properties. The large communal family kitchen in the main house was the hub and a wonderful space where we shared cooking and pre’s and games. The our pianist could play - our swimmers could swim, Pilates fans used the Reformer, horse lover watched the horses, fabulous countryside for the runners and walkers. Sarah the housekeeper and Laura both so helpful in answering questions and helping us with queries over the phone when needed. We arrived to the most glorious fresh flowers, bread and evening meal of lasagne arranged from the local deli. Gorgeous bedding and towels are the touches that make a place feel special! Thank you Laura and both Sarah’s Burrows family
