The Detail...
Escape to the peaceful Suffolk countryside for the chance to enjoy a bit of downtime in a luxurious Elizabethan country house. Brook Farm tastefully combines original 16th-century features with contemporary style and convenience. The Grade II listed house from the 1540s was renovated in partnership with English Heritage and you’ll now find the original wooden beams alongside art deco furniture and vintage finds. Gather friends and family and enjoy this beautiful rural retreat, complete with wood-fired hot tub, two acres of gardens and a private lake.
The stunning Elizabethan farmhouse features four bedrooms, two king rooms and two doubles. These bedrooms are all elegantly furnished with modern features working harmoniously with wooden floors and original exposed beams. An additional double airbed provides flexibility with sleeping options. There are two bathrooms, including a family bathroom upstairs with a luxurious roll-top bath, and a wetroom downstairs.
The sitting room and dining room are both perfect for entertaining. Relax in front of the wood-burning stove on sumptuous sofas in the sitting room with a board game or a drink in the evening. Enjoy delicious meals together in the dining room which seats up to 12 and is equipped with Sonos speakers and another wood-burner. The country-style kitchen has gorgeous exposed brick features surrounding a range cooker and has seating for six.
Head outside through the utility room and you’ll find a patio area with furniture and a BBQ, perfect for enjoying meals outside in the sunshine. There is also a Grade II listed barn which has been set up as a games room. Kids of all ages will enjoy the pool table, table tennis, table football, darts and basketball on offer. Explore further into the gardens to find the orchard, five-a-side football pitch, firepit and the lake. The 10-person hot tub is wood-fired and completely eco-friendly, so no need to worry about any nasty chemicals.
Brook Farm is located in the picturesque Suffolk village of St Nicholas. This is a beautiful area to explore with many wonderful countryside walks accessible right from the front door and a nature reserve just 15 minutes’ walk away. There are several other villages to explore in the area, including Halesworth where you can stock up on delicious local produce from the butchers and greengrocers. Ther farm is also just 20 minutes’ drive from the coast, with delightful seaside towns and villages to visit, such as Southwold. Think beach huts, fantastic pubs, sandy beaches and award-winning local beer.
