Tucked away between the lovely market town of Lewes and the fabulous South Downs, Blue Door Barns offers you an enchanted getaway that combines luxury living spaces with gorgeous natural scenery. These quaint and stylish barns with their vintage interiors, surround a serene courtyard that has been carefully illuminated with dainty fairy lights to create a becalming atmosphere. The courtyard itself also features a cracking open fire and BBQ space for use throughout the warmer parts of the year.
This cluster of converted barns are situated around a courtyard garden and sleep a total of 13 guests. Guests can book the barns individually or book the whole site for a fabulous group getaway.
These boutique barns, which were originally built in the 1600s, are not only stunning and comfy, but they were also once home to Quentin Bell, the son of painter Vanessa Bell who was a member of the Bloomsbury Group. They retain the artistic charm of their former owners with lovely chandeliers, vintage artwork and salvaged pieces of truly wonderful furniture making them the perfect place for a romantic getaway.
Guests also have access to the fantastic Communal Cabin, which is a great space for socialising, dining and relaxing. This is perfect for groups that have booked the place exclusively as it gives the entire group a chance to come together and socialise in style. This space is super-stylish and has a comfy, cosy sitting room area, a dining space and a simple kitchen. It also has a covered verandah with a fire pit, meaning you can stay toasty and warm whilst enjoying a drink in the evening.
Blue Door Barns has a range of self catering or B&B accommodation options. The Lodge and Little Lodge have fab little kitchens and dining areas so super easy to cook in. Or, if you opt for B&B roosm The Sailor's House or The Nook, breakfast, from an ever changing menu, will be delivered to your room every morning. Blue Door Barns also has a treatment room called The Snug where you can indulge in some extra pampering to make your romantic weekend away that little bit more special.
Situated near to the vibrant and bohemian seaside city of Brighton and Hove, you can also venture out into the surrounding countryside and enjoy the South Downs, Seven Sisters and the gorgeous Glyndebourne Opera House which hosts world famous opera from May to the end of August, and then some other interesting events throughout the year. But when it comes to things to do that isn’t all that’s on offer. You also have unlimited access to picturesque cycle tracks without a car in sight as well as a joyous bundle of classic pub lunch options, all of which offer lovely local ales. You can even try your hand at horse riding, paragliding or head out sailing on the open ocean. The living quarters here are so lovely that you may never want to step outside, but with so many wonderful things to do, right on your doorstep, we’d urge you to try.
