The Details...

Hop aboard this gorgeous houseboat and step back into a more opulent era (albeit without a sniff of stuffy formalities!). With its luxurious interiors and five-star breakfast, this B&B is set to impress. Whether you want to explore the vibrant city of London or reconnect with nature, this stunning houseboat has it all. With pontoon mooring at the heart of Plantain Wharf, its a great location to get stuck into all London has to offer...or not.

Located between Battersea and Wandsworth, Ara is no ordinary houseboat. At 40m long and 6m wide, this Belgian Spitz barge has plenty of room to play with. And play with it, Jenny and Henry (the lucky owners), have. The interiors reflect their love of colour and nature, with eclectic one-off pieces seamlessly combined with a luxury finish. The welcome is warm and laid-back, which means youll have no trouble kicking back and fully relaxing.

As a captain of your own boat, you can enjoy all that river life has to offer. Batten down the hatches in the sumptuous lounge, complete with wood burning stove, retreat to the library with its seriously beautiful butterfly chaise longue, or head up to one of the two gorgeous decks to take in the hubbub of river life. Back inside, the bedrooms are simply stunning, each one with its own individual style. From muted tones to decadent wallpapers, the stylish interiors guarantee a memorable stay. And to top it all off, the bathrooms are ship shape and beautifully finished.

Breakfast, served on the upper deck, showcases Jennys love of cooking. A full array of goodies are on offer, from croissants and freshly brewed coffee, to a full English breakfast. Take in the beautiful view and wake up to river life in serious style.

Back on dry land, the bars and restaurants of Clapham and Kings Road are all within walking distance. But why walk when you can test out your sea (or, river) legs and head out on the Thames clipper river bus? It only takes 20 minutes to get to the heart of the city centre, and theres plenty of landmarks en route, including Battersea Park, with its pretty woods and children's zoo, Tate Britain, the Embankment and Greenwich.

River life affords you to experience a side to London you rarely see. The views and wildlife are ever-changing, and the pace of life is addictive - come and enjoy the slow lane!
