The Details...

An Airigh is a little corner of calm in Galtrigill – a small and friendly crofting township beside Loch Dunvegan. Designed as a contemporary upgrade on traditional Shepherd-style accommodation, this luxury retreat boasts modern comforts and style set against a wild landscape. This intimate home is ideal for a solo or couple’s retreat and is the perfect place in which to relax, unwind and rest. The modern bathroom features a deluxe shower, complimentary Scottish soaps and luxury Egyptian cotton towels.
The open-plan living space of An Airigh is a true highlight. Tastefully furnished throughout with unique local crafts, the painted oak floors connect a spacious lounge room to a sleek, well-equipped kitchen space and dining area. Underfloor heating will ensure your stay remains snug and cosy, but it’s the open wood burning stove that will bring a warming ambience to your Scottish escape.

The stellar views surrounding An Airigh are just as much a feature of the property as its well-designed interiors. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the main living area frame the picture-perfect views of the nearby moorland, sea and coral beach. On warm days, the feature windows can be pulled back to reveal a decked terrace on which you can drink in the breathtaking scenery.

Explorers should take note that the Cuillin mountain range, Neist Point, Fairy Pools, Old Man of Storr, Coral Beach and MacLeod Tables are all nearby. Walking guides are stocked at the property for adventurous hikers, and access to a secluded bay at the foot of the croft gives the option of catching a fish for supper or wild swimming in the warmer months.

Food/drink lovers can enjoy the world famous The Three Chimneys restaurant and the Michelin-starred Loch Bay restaurant which are both close by and who specialise in using local produce. Guests can also enjoy time visiting the whisky distillery in Talisker.

Inhabiting the area are enough plants and animals to make wildlife fans swoon; buzzards, eagles, seals and the occasional pod of dolphins are just a few regular neighbours that can be spotted around An Airigh. On a clear night, guests can participate in a spot of soul-restoring star gazing and may even be able to catch a glimmer of the northern lights.
