Set in the stunning Upper Derwent Valley in the Peak District National Park, this 17th Century stone barn conversion helps you escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This beautiful building, with its exposed brickwork and wooden beams, has recently been furnished to create a real home-from-home. Sleeping up to eight guests in total, Beavers Croft is a great option for families, groups of friends on walking or cycling holidays, or just those looking for a bit of peace and quiet amidst spectacular scenery.
On the ground floor, the double-height living space shows off some of the barn’s best features, such as the exposed brickwork, the beautiful fireplace equipped with a log burner and the vaulted ceilings above. With comfy sofas gathered around the log burner and a selection of board games, you’re all set for a cosy night in. This open-plan space also has a dining table and a modern kitchen with an island and all the equipment you’ll need to enjoy home-cooked meals.
There are also two twin bedrooms on the ground floor, beautifully furnished and with luxurious goose feather pillows and Egyptian cotton linen provided. The third bedroom, a double, can be found up the stairs and past the gallery that overlooks the living space. The gallery itself can be used as another bedroom, with the sofa converting into another comfy double bed. There is one bathroom upstairs and one downstairs, with a walk-in shower and a bath.
You'll find outdoor furniture on the terrace outside the barn and fuel is provided for the BBQ. Beavers Croft sits on two acres of grounds and the gardens add to the peaceful atmosphere. Surrounded by woodland and next to the Howden Dam and reservoir, it could hardly be set in a more beautiful place.
Whether you prefer to explore on foot or by bike, there are dozens of routes to try. You’ll find maps and recommendations in your information pack upon arrival and there’s a secure outbuilding where bikes can be stored safely. Explore the Derwent Valley reservoirs or give mountain biking a go. There are walking routes suitable for all abilities, from a quick 40-minute stroll to more challenging day-long adventures. Guided walks are also available to take you up to some of the highest points in the Peak District.
