Guests will be pleased to know that Shrewsbury itself is brimming with history. Henry Tudor House is a pub found off Wyle Cop that dates back to the early 15th Century and was where Henry VII stayed before the Battle of Bosworth. There are also tours of Shrewsbury Abbey and Shrewsbury Prison available for those history buffs that want to get a closer look. The latter of the two was built in 1793 but was still in operation as recently as 2013. St Mary's Church and Shrewsbury Castle are also well worth a visit.
The town is also brimming with fabulous pubs and eateries, from the Boathouse and Armoury Inns to the classy bistro styling of Harvey's of Fish St.
