Hidden away in the hills near the Peak District National Park has been lovingly restored to create a luxury holiday home while preserving the building’s history with exposed wooden beams, stone walls and vaulted ceilings. Complete with a beautiful garden and an optional hot tub add on, this makes for a serene and relaxing getaway.
With four luxurious bedrooms sleeping a total of eight to ten people, the barn is ideal for family gatherings or groups of friends wanting to escape to the countryside. All of the bedrooms have been decorated in neutral tones which perfectly complement the exposed beams and stone walls and create a relaxing atmosphere. All of the bedrooms also have their own modern bathrooms.
The kitchen and dining area, with its beautiful wooden floors and beams overhead, is a cosy place to cook and to enjoy a meal together. The kitchen is fully-equipped with modern appliances and looks out over the dining table with space for 10. Upstairs, beneath a vaulted ceiling, the spacious sitting room has three large sofas gathered around a log burner to keep you warm in the evening. There are board games and a selection of books and DVDs for cosy evenings in.
Outside, there’s an enclosed garden with outdoor furniture for dining and relaxing and a five-seater hot tub with mood lighting and a built-in Bluetooth speaker which can be organised for an additional fee. You can wander down to the Haven Brook stream from the garden and discover some of the surrounding flora and fauna.
The area is popular with walkers and cyclists with many scenic routes accessible directly from Waterside Barn. Tackle the famous Dovedales walk or discover waterfalls on a riverside walk in the Lathkill Dale. There is a cycling and walking track around Carsington Water reservoir, or you could have a go at some water sports, such as stand up paddle-boarding or windsurfing. The nearby Peak District National Park is home to many pretty villages such as Milldales and Alstonefield. Both have circular walks that explore the surrounding countryside so you can head off into the hills and then reward yourself with a hearty pub lunch.
We can provide a five-seater luxury hot tub complete with mood lighting and a built-in bluetooth speaker as an add-on for an additional £195.00. To organise this, please contact the Property Manager post-booking.
