History and luxury combine at Villa Cretole - a 200-year-old country house that has been renovated to the highest spec. Located between Italy’s beautiful Tuscany and Umbria regions, it is the perfect escape to relax and unwind. With glorious gardens, marvellous views, and a large swimming pool, this really is an idyllic place for a delightful holiday in the sun.
Sleeping up to 12 guests across six bedrooms, the villa is surrounded by a two hectare garden and the woods and green hills of the Val Tiberina beyond that. Most of the social spaces are found on the ground floor, with the interior design country-chic throughout. There are two lounges, one of which has a fireplace and satellite TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with two stoves, a fridge/freezer, and dishwasher and also boasts original stone walls and fantastic views of the valley beyond. Meals can then be enjoyed in either the dining or breakfast rooms, while there is also a separate utility room with a washing machine and a WC.
The first of the bedrooms is found on the ground floor as well. It is a twin with private bathroom with shower. Heading upstairs leads to a spacious master suite. Along with a double bed and fireplace this also has its own private bathroom and sitting room. There are a further two double bedrooms on the first floor, each with en-suite bathrooms and one of which has access to the aforementioned sitting room.
Finally, the second level can act as a self-sufficient apartment all on its own. There is another lounge and kitchen, which has an oven, dishwasher, washing machine, and dining area. On this floor is another double and twin bedrooms, which both have en-suite bathrooms.
Outside in the private and enclosed grounds, those staying can take in the true beauty of the area. They can sit back in the shade of one of the old trees, or kick back on the pergola with a book or a glass of wine. When looking to cool off, guests can head into the pool, which has its own accompanying changing and shower room. Then there is a barbecue and outdoor furniture so alfresco dining can be enjoyed while surrounded by the spectacular Italian countryside.
