The detail

Trevint is a wonderful find in a fabulous location, close to both the beach and the centre of town but secluded enough to give you all the privacy you want. It would be ideal for a family holiday with three bedrooms sleeping six and an office with a comfy sofa bed that would be perfect for two kids, or big kids who are more concerned with surfing than bed size!

This brilliant L-shaped beach house is big, modern and very inviting. The open plan living, dining and kitchen area is the heart of the property and a perfect place to come together for a welcome drink. The living area at one end has a big comfy corner sofa facing the wood burning stove and a 55 inch HD TV where you can snuggle up on chillier evenings and enjoy a movie night with a giant bucket of popcorn and gallons of wine.

The dining area has a big family table with bench and chair seating for eight, facing bi-folding doors which open up to the garden providing a lovely ambience for lazy suppers. The kitchen at the far end of the space is modern, fully equipped and has a breakfast bar with stools where you can slouch with a drink and watch someone else cook. The entire ceiling has multiple sky lights which flood the room with sunshine and really make you feel like you're in a beach hut near the sea. The décor throughout is simple and elegant with a few nice plants and the odd nod towards mid-century stylings.

Everything is on one floor so this is a great property for those with older relatives or people with mobility issues. The main bedroom is lovely with a king size bed and an ensuite. There's also a work desk should you absolutely have to use it. Additionally there is a very nice double room and a room with twin beds. All of the rooms are white walled with nice cosy linens on the beds, storage aplenty and some pretty local art on display.

There's a separate office with a wall-mounted monitor and a desk that overlooks the garden. If you absolutely must work, then it's a lovely environment to do so in. There's also a sofa bed in the office which can be used for two additional adults, but would be perfect for kids (the wall mounted TV is a big win there).

There's a family bathroom with a tub and shower overhead and an additional separate WC. So, three toilets all in! Outside the property is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, very handy if you're doing a daily trip to the beach.

The garden is a lovely little oasis surrounded by trees and there's furniture for alfresco dining should the mood take you.

When it's time to head out you have the glorious Gyllyngvase (Gylly) Beach just a short stroll away and the hosts have thoughtfully provided paddle boards for your enjoyment. There are plenty of great pubs to choose from in Falmouth, but if you like a view you can't do better than The Boathouse Pub & Restaurant which has a rustic decor, bay views and a lovely terrace offering local ales and seafood, plus live folk music. Additionally, the Working Boat has a fabulous authentic Cornish atmosphere and is very dog friendly.
