Built in the 1980s and renovated in 2015, Thistles is a beautifully designed seaside cottage on the picturesque and romantic isle of Skye, now available to rent on a self-catered basis. Packed with high-end amenities inside and out, Thistles represents the perfect escape from urban life, with its farmhouse-chic fittings, total tranquillity, and views over the Sound of Sleat.
Thistles is arranged around a central, open plan area which incorporates the kitchen, dining room and living area. This is where you'll find the full cooking facilities in the Ashley Ann fitted kitchen, including an aga and granite work surfaces. This space also houses as soft comfortable sofas, a wood-burning stove, and a flat-screen Smart TV with Freesat, and a choice of DVDs for the DVD player. From here you can also enjoy elevated views over the stunning Skye landscape.
Upstairs, in this spacious and beautifully designed house with its wooden finishes and charming fixtures, you'll find the two bedrooms. Both are large, and offer great views and double beds, as well as ample storage space and their very own large, flat-screen television, equipped with Freesat. Each bedroom also has its own en-suite shower and bathroom, making this is a perfect choice for pairs of couples, looking to take in the majesty and allure of the Isle of Skye together. This is the sort of house where you can be as active as you like. Whether your idea of the ultimate holiday is getting up at the crack of dawn to hike for miles, before taking a cold water swim, and visiting a few pubs before coming home exhausted, or spending your days relaxing in the comfort of your home whilst enjoying the view, there's something for everyone.
Everything about Thistles has been designed to create a comfortable and relaxing self-catering cottage, where between one and four guests can feel supremely comfortable, regardless of the season. There really is nothing quite like coming home to your timer-clad Sound-side cottage at the end of a long day of hiking, setting a fire in the stove, and opening a bottle of wine with your friends before coming together to cook a slap-up dinner using local meat, seafood and game.
Visitors flock to the beautiful Isle of Skye from all over the globe, drawn by the rugged and picturesque landscape, and ultra-romantic topography. For hiking, birdwatching, wild-swimming and great rural pubs, there really is nowhere quite like it in the world, and based on the coastline, just opposite the Knoydart peninsula, Thistles is the perfect place from which to enjoy it.
