A mere three miles from the centre of the historic city of Bath, and just moments from the Cotswold Way sits The Workshop. This delightful and comfy cabin sleeps up to four people and is sitting in the middle of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This holiday home really is perfect for lovers of the great outdoors who want to venture out for a country stroll as well as those of you who want to explore the charming city of Bath. Surrounded by peaceful countryside and sat 700 feet up, The Workshop offers spectacular views and on a clear day you can see all the way to the Brecon Beacons.
This property was once a workshop and has now been converted into a wonderful holiday cabin. With a rustic and rural interior, and touches of country charm throughout, this property will make you feel instantly becalmed and at one with your surroundings. There’s a great living room with big comfy sofas and nice oak floors, where you can all sit around the wood burning stove for a cosy night in. Plenty of natural light pours in through the big windows, and the open plan living area also has a nice dining space and backs onto a fully equipped kitchen, with everything you could want to cook up some locally sourced produce.
There are two great bedrooms, one main room that’s spacious and has a king size bed, a chest of drawers and a ‘gentleman’s’ wardrobe; and the other, which has a comfortable double bed, more drawers and a small wardrobe. There’s also a bathroom with a toilet and a nice walk-in shower. The balcony outside has great views across the fields towards the Welsh hills and at the side of the cabin is a secluded patio area with a table and chairs and a small BBQ, perfect for some al fresco dining in the warmer months.
The brilliant city of Bath is a short drive away and perfect for lovers of great architecture, lovely cafes, restaurants and bars, and places of historical significance. The beautiful Cotswold Way is also right on your doorstep and offers great walking opportunities and breathtaking views. Whichever direction you walk you’re presented with beautiful scenery, lovely British wildlife and plenty of fresh countryside air.

Leave a reviewWe absolutely loved our stay at The Workshop. The perfect location for a quiet and relaxing stay that is close enough to town and for day trips outside of Bath. Jane was very accommodating to any requests and made sure we had everything we needed for the duration of our stay. Would highly recommend.

Had a perfect stay at the Workshop. It is the cosiest space and we felt completely at home with everything you could need. The views are beautiful and there is a lovely walk right behind the house where you can see even more. We walked to the nearby villages where there are some great pubs and also got the park and ride into the city which is only a 5 minute drive away. We are already planning to come back again, thank you Jane and Kieran!

Book it! Luxury, comfort & a real hidden gem! We have stayed in many cool places, the Workshop is by far our favourite. From the glorious wooded setting with just the sounds of birds to its fantastic location, a stone’s throw from Bath yet less than an hour to Avebury & Stonehenge or Glastonbury & Wells. Warm, cosy & comfortable. Classy touches throughout and sumptuous soft furnishings. Love the Noble Isle products too. Really perfect and such a good night’s sleep in extremely comfortable beds. We will be back.

The Workshop is a real haven of tranquillity tucked away in the beautiful countryside with wonderful views! The pictures of the property are exactly what it says "on the tin" - lots of room, well kitted out for summer days and glorious Autumn days ...we were lucky had sunshine for all our stay! All home comforts are available, and the furnishings to a high quality included a very comfortable bed-a requirement after walking and exploring Bath on the doorstep. Had a lovely time and came home relaxed and recharged - Highly recommend this fab property.

Just back from a Lovely 3 night stay in the workshop - I took my Mum for a Christmas shopping trip in Bath and the accommodation was perfect for all our needs. The workshop itself is cozy and really comfortable (genuinely very comfortable!) with a fully stocked kitchen making self catering easy. The location however is what makes it - it is in the countryside tucked away with stunning views and easy access to lovely countryside walks which is amazing however it is also just down the road from the Bath park and ride making a day shopping hassle free!! This is my second visit and I fully intend to stay again and have recommended to all my friends and family. Last but by no means least, the communication from Jane is spot on, clear instructions on arrival and departure and the covid measures put in place take nothing away from the experience which is great!

We had the loveliest stay at the Workshop in April. The house is extremely well equipped with everything you need, the kitchen is great, and there are some lovely touches like super soft bath towels and extremely comfy beds. Great views for our morning cup of tea! We spent a lot of time in, even though the location is fantastic, so close to Bath and various other sites of interest yet right on the Cotswold Way. We stayed for 3 nights but it wasn't nearly enough time to do everything we wanted! Highly recommend.

Just returned from a long weekend at The Workshop and my partner and I wish we were still there. It was so easy to locate and Jane was very accommodating with our late arrival. The cottage is so cosy and welcoming, I felt very comfortable as soon as I walked in. There is pretty much anything you would need provided for you to use. The king bed was also just so comfortable which I usually struggle with when staying away from home. The views and surrounding areas are just beautiful to wake up to and admire, even when the weather wasn't the best. There are plenty of pubs within walking distance and they are nice walks too, definitely a few hills though so get your comfy shoes on. Loved the place and We will most certainly be looking to return. Clare and Aidan.

Myself and a couple of friends had a lovely time staying at the Workshop. It has a real cozy and homely feel to it, along with the most amazing views of the Cotswolds. Situated in the perfect location for exploring the beautiful town of Bath or putting on your hiking boots and exploring the Cotswold Way which is right on your doorstep. Will certainly be returning for a second visit. Thank You Jane.

We had a great stay at the Workshop. It's a lovely place tucked away in the woods! Jane is a lovely host - made us feel very welcome. All the amenities were there and of a high quality. Place was very clean and welcoming. Very handy for park and ride into Bath. It's a good base to explore the area or an ideal retreat!

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage. The position is superb with easy access to Bath and anywhere else you want to visit in this glorious part of the country. The views are stunning and the Cotswold way is on the doorstep for marvelous walking. To top it all off Jane is a charming host for whom nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.

The workshop is truly a little gem. It’s so nice to arrive at a property and not to be disappointed. It is well equipped and extremely comfortable. It really is just like the photos, but the views are better! The owner is just down the lane if you need her but you are left alone. It’s a very relaxing place to stay, very comfortable for four but even better for two, we left our kids at home, Sorry kids! The two double bedrooms are really very large. The park and ride is only 5 mins away and very cheap! We took the owners advise, Jane, and walked to the Upton Inn for Sunday Lunch. Book a table in advance, we were lucky. If you love walks, shopping in Bath and drinking red wine siting by a log burner and looking at a view, it’s the place to go. I really hope that this review does not encourage too many people to book, we really want to return very soon!

This is the perfect place for a stress free break. The workshop has been lovingly decorated and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Situated in an easy to find place, which is quiet with beautiful views but in easy access of Bath centre. Can’t wait to stay again.

A sensitively and prettily converted workshop with stunning views. This is an extremely comfortable and cosy cottage in a tranquil rural location, yet just a short hop away from Bath. We had a lovely time here and will be back...

We found this little gem as a last minute trip away on CoolStays. So easy to get to and what can I say about the views when we pulled up in the car! Breathtaking doesn’t put it into words. Inside the workshop, is like a home from home. We have been away to many cottages and stays away but none were as lovely as here. Beautiful inside and out. It has everything you could need should you jjsr want to cosy up and stay out and not go out. We had weather on our side and sat in the little courtyard and had a lovely bbq. What we didn’t realise that there was a park and ride 3 mins up the road which takes you straight into Bath centre. We loved our stay and hope to come back soon with our daughters. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
