Nestled away within one of Scotland's most picturesque National Parks, The Wee Love Nest is a wooden open plan cottage which comes with everything you need for a romantic two person getaway to rural Scotland. Offering diverse entertainment, gorgeous views, a cosy atmosphere and great access to the Cairngorms, The Wee Love Nest is the ultimate retreat for individual travellers or couples looking to spend time together among rolling hills and quaint pubs.
With its domed roof and timber cladding, everything about the Wee Love Nest is romantic and visually pleasing, from the full sized bathroom with its walk-in shower to the stacks of books provided to unwind with after a long day of hiking. Whatever the season you visit in, the atmosphere and light are a real treat, with bright starry skies, the calls of wild birds, and greenery and dramatic topography as far as the eye can see.
After exploring the hiking trails and stunning vistas within the National Park, there really is nothing like coming back to your very own space and climbing into the hot tub with a glass of wine, whiling away the evening before a late outdoors dinner cooked on your private firepit. Whether you spend your time on the private wraparound decking and garden space or curl up on the sofa inside, you'll quickly realise that everything about this romantic retreat has been painstakingly designed and fitted to create an intimate and comfortable space. Relax and forget the stresses, crowds and pollution of the city, and feel at one with some of the most beautiful nature in Scotland.
The space itself contains your kitchenette, which features a sink, kettle, toaster, microwave and coffee machine. You also have the use of shared kitchen facilities in the space that was once the old greenhouse, which also has a washing machine. You're welcome to make use of this if you have post-hike laundry to run, as well as plans for a more ambitious home cooked meal.
Being located in Britain's largest National Park, there's no shortage of rambling, hiking, fishing and birdwatching opportunities, from lengthy and challenging walks to less demanding routes. There are also a range of ancient and historically significant castles nearby, including the queen's Balmoral residence. Corgarff Castle, and Craigievar Castle. Everything from equestrian tours to whiskey distillery outings can be found in the vicinity, not to mention winter sports at the Lecht Ski Centre. Dining wise, you're also spoiled for choice. Check out the family owned and operated Kildrummy Inn for great local fare, specialising in traditional Scottish cuisine in a wonderful setting, or head to Goodbrand and Ross Tea Room for high tea and ice cream in a family-friendly environment.
