Rolling countryside and castles galore are all easily explored from this, the cosiest of huts. In this prettiest of farm settings you would never guess you were just twenty minutes from the Severn Bridge.
This shepherd's hut offers you open-plan living, with one double bed with a woodburner (logs included) and a shower room, complete with a shower and WC. The kitchen/dining area includes a small fridge, mini electric oven and a hob.
Outside you’ll find a large enclosed garden, fire pit BBQ, outdoor chairs and a hammock for lazy days outside. Beyond the garden you'll find a pretty natural pond in the wider grounds of the owner’s property.
Rest assured there is onsite parking, bed linen, towels and electric sockets all included.
Perfectly nestled between the Wye Valley in one direction and the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park in the other, there's plenty to head out and explore. There are many walks you can take from the door, including a stroll down the lane to the local pub.
Fantastic fishing can be found nearby on the River Usk, with day permits available in Usk. Kayaking and canoeing is also possible on the River Wye. Monmouthshire is castle country, with Raglan Castle just a few short miles away, or why not take a day trip around the trio of Whitecastle, Grosmont and Skenfrith Castles.

Leave a review"The Usk Hut" I could not recommend it enough! A Beautiful, idyllic place to stay and what a perfect place for a little romantic get away. The owners have gone above and beyond to make The Usk Hut feel like home. It was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and would definitely rate 10/10 for cleanliness! We bought our Beagle for a stay with us and with a fully enclosed (big) garden, he was able to run about and also enjoy himself. We took full advantage of the log fire, which was amazing for the cold evenings! There is a lovely little pub/restaurant (The Hall Inn) just up the lane, 10/10 for that as well, beautiful food and lovely people! We will definitely be going back to "The Usk Hut", hopefully in the summer so we get to enjoy the beautiful outdoors surrounding the Hut. 11/10 for this lovely lovely place!
