Key features of the castle include over 28-acres of land to explore, a medieval fortified tower, a huge outdoor swimming pool, and an outdoor terrace providing unhindered vistas of the surrounding countryside. Besides this, it is also wonderfully positioned from which to explore the greater Dordogne region, and beyond. Sleeping up to 14 guests across seven spacious double bedrooms, The Tower is ideal for large groups of friends or family and those who enjoy a setting that really is like no other.
Exposed timber beams line the ceilings, while original stone fireplaces can be found throughout the Château. These original features couple with stone and wooden floors, antique furniture, and several modern quirks to create a stay with one eye on the past, with the other firmly on the present. There are three a main living rooms, along with two dedicated dining rooms, and the island kitchen is spacious and comes fully equipped with all mod cons.
Guests will be spread out across seven bedrooms: five doubles, one king size, and one super king size. Each room benefits from an ensuite complete with shower and bath. There are a number of outside spaces to enjoy, too. Whether it is the beautiful, pebbled courtyard and garden, the extensive terrace with outdoor furniture, or the large swimming pool, guests are sure to fall in love with this truly stunning property. And that is without even mentioning the arresting vistas of the surrounding Dordogne countryside.
With more than 1,500 scattered throughout the region, Dordogne is known as 'The Other Chateau Country', making it a favourite of history buffs. Famous castles include Château de Beynac, Château de Castelnaud, Château de Puymartin, and Château de la Roque des Péagers - all of which are drivable distances from Mareuil.
