Surrounded by lush, trailing vineyards and golden sunflower fields, Le Beau Fief is a tranquil cottage in unrivalled, rural scenes. Explore the Nouvelle Aquitaine region with its peaceful, rolling landscapes, stopping off in sleepy, country towns or at secluded, sandy beaches. Picnic in the wild maize meadows or cycle through meandering lanes, tasting gourmet food and wine on long summer days.
Le Beau Fief is settled in a traditional, rural hamlet and is just one of thirteen historic, stone gîtes overlooking the sun-kissed landscapes. Dating back to the 19th century and with 1000sqm of exclusive grounds, it is a romantic hideout where you can escape the bustling tourist crowds.
While away your days beside your own private pool, sitting out in the sun-drenched courtyard and soaking up the stunning, rural views. Rest in the shaded fruit orchards or dine alfresco on the terrace, watching the captivating sunsets and star-filled skylines. There are mountain bikes and picnic baskets for you to use at your leisure, along with a welcome hamper for your first country adventure.
Behind its alluring, cottage garden lies a boutique country home, that has been stylishly updated to blend new with old. There are original beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls, beside natural textures and state-of-the-art mod-cons. Sophisticated touches add to its chic-bucolic vibe and include antique pieces and vintage designs.
An open-plan living area is cosy and warm, and boasts a comfy lounge and a sweet kitchen-diner. Expect sink-in sofas and a toasty log fire, along with curtain-fronted cupboards and shabby-chic furniture.
Upstairs, you’ll find three charming, family bedrooms, with ample room for up to five people. Choose from the master en-suite double or the stylish, rustic twin or the bijoux single room perfect for young children. Each is finished with sumptuous beds and designer prints, and has a view over the courtyard below.
When you’re fully rested and ready to explore, then the south west of France has everything you could want and more. Fall in love with pretty La Rochelle harbour or the Roman ruins at Saintes, or the quaint town of Cognac with its world-famous produce. Pick up some delicious foods at the colourful, local markets, visiting nearby Aulnay de Saintonge or Saint Jean d'Angely. Enjoy refreshing country walks around the magnificent Le Grand Fief hamlet, or relaxed afternoons in your own private gardens.
