The detail

Once Kingussie’s old police station, now a collection of stylish apartments suitable for solo travellers, couples or families, each residence at The Seelies feels just like home. You’ll find everything you need to get settled in, from well-appointed kitchenettes to custom-made double beds. Complimentary premium toiletries are available in the bathrooms, meaning there’s one less thing to remember to pack, and views of the surrounding Cairngorms National Park create a serene backdrop, allowing you to kick back and relax in a tranquil setting.

Each thoughtfully designed abode features an open-plan living space, ideal for both entertaining and relaxing. Plush sofas face smart TVs, inviting you to curl up with a cup of tea or a snifter of scotch on a blustery afternoon and catch up on your favourite series. The rooms also comprise bespoke dining tables for sitting down with a tasty Scottish breakfast rustled up at the kitchenette.

The bedrooms here are modern and comfortable, with carefully considered pops of colour and sink-in memory foam mattresses promising a restful slumber. Sleek bathrooms complete the apartments, featuring walk-in waterfall showers for rinsing off after hikes through the mountains. The apartments offer a mixture of one-bedroom spaces that sleep two to four guests and two bedroom apartments that can accommodate up to six. This makes them perfect for romantic couples retreats, small families and groups of friends wanting to relax and unwind together.

Step outside, and you’ll find yourself on Kingussie High Street, footsteps from cafes, restaurants and independent shops. Adventurous types will be pleased to know snow sports are available at the Cairngorms Mountain Resort and the Lecht Ski Centre. For those who’d like to stretch their legs, there are endless walking routes on the doorstep. If you’re staying with little ones, the Landmark Adventure Park is a must-visit, less than a 25-minute drive away. Or why not check out the Highland Wildlife Park, reached in 15 minutes by car? And for something a little different, catch the funicular railway, the only of its kind in Scotland and the highest in the UK.
