The Sea Swallow is a beautiful seaside holiday cottage nestled a few steps from the water in a quiet nook of the picturesque and lively harbour town of Fowey. Long ago an old fisherman's home this lovely cottage has been lovingly furnished and is perfect for couples, friends and families seeking a holiday by the sea.
Inside you’ll find two beautiful spacious bedrooms with sumptuous king size beds and deliciously soft goose down duvets, covered in pure natural linen and Egyptian cotton sateen. The largest room has a window seat with views out to the water that is also designed to be made up as a single bed, with soft muslin curtains to pull across creating a snug extra sleeping nookthat’s ideal for children.
Unwind in the bathroom, with a wet room rain shower and an extra deep tub for a soothing candlelit soak. There's also an ample supply of thick fluffy towels bathrobes and organic Neal’s Yard bubble bath.
You’ll find that the stylish kitchen is wonderfully equipped with a Smeg fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, Dualit toaster and all the crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and utensils you could need. Wake up to a perfect latte from the Nespresso coffee machine, stocked with coffee pods, then head out to the garden for some sunshine. The courtyard garden is hidden behind the cottage, and with potted plants, a bench, director's chairs and tables it makes a cosy spot for a long, slow breakfast or to while away candlelit evenings in the gentle Cornish climate.
On the entertainment front you’ll find a little library stocked with tales of the sea, games for adults and children, WiFi, MP3 dock and iPod loaded with lovely tunes, SMART internet TV and subscription to Amazon Prime Films so you can cuddle up for a cosy evening with your favourite flicks.
And if you're holidaying with babies or small children you can travel a little lighter as there is a cot with two sets of bedding, trip-trap highchair, baby bath, crockery and cutlery, microwave steriliser, food mixer, little step-up, changing mat, anti-door slammers, socket covers, stair gate, bed safety rail, potty... phew! And there are toys, crayons, dressing-up clothes and books... who could ask for more?
Fowey is a lovely and cheerful ancient fishing port, with narrow winding streets, pretty painted buildings, wonderful eateries, shops and galleries and is perched alongside one of England's most unspoilt estuaries, where the river meets the sea in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Sandy beaches are a short stroll from the house and there are some stunning coastal walks on your doorstep too. The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock and the breathtakingly beautiful Bodmin moor are all nearby, not to mention the sun, sea and surf that characterise Cornwall and make it the ideal place for holidaying in England.
Stunning coastal walks start from your doorstep and you're right by lovely sandy beaches, river kayaking, boats, great restaurants, shops, galleries are just around the corner. Perfect quiet nook in the centre of beautiful, ancient Fowey and ideal location for exploring Cornwall's treasures. Guests receive tips from our favourite things to do and places to eat.
