Welcome to Argus Cottage at Pendeen Lighthouse! In this dramatic location next to the sea you can enjoy wide vistas and a refreshing breeze off the Cornish coast.

Argus is one of two holiday cottages available at the lighthouse and has a dramatic location on a granite headland on the North Cornwall Coast within a Site of Special Scientific Interest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The South West Coast path passes round the headland, passing through part of Cornwall's oldest mining areas. The lighthouse lies six miles north of Land's End and two miles from St Just. The lighthouse was established in 1900, electrified in 1926 and automated in 1994.

Everything is on one level, and you’ll find space to comfortably sleep three, with a spacious hall, sitting room, kitchen, dining room and utility room. There’s also a double bedrooms with a 5' bed, a single bedroom with a 3' bed and a bathroom with a separate WC. Throughout the cottage, you’ll find everything has been tastefully and simply decorated, matching many of the tones of the sea outside and with the windows open you can hear the waves hitting against the coastline.

To keep you cosy there’s central heating and an electric fire in the sitting room, and on the technology front there is a TV, DVD player and a payphone. The kitchen comes fully equipped with a gas hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. For the kids, there’s a travel cot and highchair available.

Step outside the property and you’ll find a large walled patio to rear of the property, and there’s onsite parking as well as some additional visitor parking 100 yards away in a public car park.

Whilst staying at the cottage, you may be lucky enough to spot seals on the rocks below the lighthouse headland, as well as a variety of seabirds. With banks of seasonal pink thrift and golden gorse, the headland is a perfect location to watch the sun setting over the Atlantic. Nearby you’ll find sandy beaches at Whitesand Bay and Gwynver close by. You can visit the world famous Land’s End, or enjoy a trip to the historic St Michael’s Mount. For some art and culture, head to the Tate St Ives, then out onto the beach to eat delicious Cornish pasties followed by local ice cream. Throughout the area you’ll find an abundance of small seaside towns with a wealth of tea shops, cafes, independent shops and restaurants.
