Nestled on a private estate in Scotland, The Pheasantry is a traditional country cottage, perfect for couples or families looking for an idyllic escape. This charming granite cottage was originally built as the laundry for the main house. Now it stands, pride of place, next to the estate’s beautiful walled gardens, reimagined as a luxury holiday house. Relax in the Swedish wood-fired hot tub after a long walk in the Deveron Valley, get cosy in front of a merrily crackling fire inside and enjoy the views of the garden from your bedroom window.
The cottage is a listed building and full of traditional charm with antique furniture, a wood-burning stove and a gorgeous roll-top bath. In the living room, sit back and relax on the comfy sofa or in one of the armchairs as you enjoy a movie in front of a fire or get stuck into a family board game. There’s also a dining area, which leads through to the well-equipped kitchen, complete with all the appliances you could need, from a dishwasher to a coffee machine.
There are two bedrooms, one double and a twin, making The Pheasantry a great choice for families. Both rooms have extremely comfortable beds, with crisp white linen and fluffy bath towels waiting for you. They also have wonderful views of the walled garden below. The bedrooms share a family bathroom, where you’ll find that beautiful freestanding bath, as well as a separate shower.
Outside, you’ll find a private garden, perfect for enjoying sunny afternoons with a Kamando barbecue and a pizza oven. In the evenings, get the Hikki wood-fired hot tub going and enjoy the sunset with a glass of something.
The cottage is set on a stunning 700-acre estate which encompasses woodland, manicured gardens, flowing rivers and rugged countryside. The estate offers plenty of activities and experiences, from fishing, shooting and hunting to traditional picnics, prepared and delivered to the cottage or to a location on the estate. There are also opportunities for a bit of wild swimming and wildlife spotting. Being so far north, you might even be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights.
