In The Pastel Hamlet, you’ll almost feel as though you’ve stepped into the pages of a story set in idyllic rural France. You’ll be greeted by a beautiful painted house with teal shutters set in a pretty garden in the French countryside. With five large bedrooms and a hot tub in the garden, this is perfect for trips with the whole family or for groups of friends.
The interior is just as charming as its storybook exterior with exposed wooden beams, wood burners to keep you cosy and a mix of contemporary and traditional decor. The beautiful teal colour on the shutters outside has been used throughout the house. The large kitchen and dining area is the perfect place for everyone to gather for some pastries and coffee in the mornings or to prepare an extravagant dinner together in the evening. The room feels like it’s the heart of the house and is double height over the fireplace, adding to the sense of spaciousness.
You’ll find several cosy spots to curl up on big comfy sofas with a book or a board game, in front of a roaring fire if it’s chilly outside. There are five bedrooms in total, four doubles and a twin. One of the bedrooms overlooks the kitchen area and has gorgeous exposed brick walls and wooden beams. All of the bedrooms are relaxing places to be, using neutral colour palettes and goosedown bedding. There are three bathrooms, one with a gorgeous roll-top bath and the other two featuring large and luxurious walk-in showers, complete with natural products for you to try.
Step outside into the large garden and fire up the barbecue on sunny afternoons. There’s plenty of space for everyone at the large round outdoor table and there are benches in front of the house which are perfect for soaking up the sun and the scenery. Tucked around the corner, you’ll find the hot tub where you can relax with a glass of wine in the evenings.
You’ll find The Pastel Hamlet in Courcerac in the southwest of France. Surrounded by the enchanting French countryside and pretty villages, you can spend laid back days exploring by bike or on foot. Any budding sommeliers might want to take a trip south to the area around Bergerac or Bordeaux and visit some of the region's famous vineyards. The coast is also close by and La Rochelle is just over an hour away in the car with its beautiful old harbour and delightful seaside restaurants.
