The Old Post Office sits between the Keyhaven harbour on one side and the salt marshes and thriving wildlife of the Solent on the other. Traditional and in keeping from the outside, the interior design has more than a hint of the super yachts that the owners are involved with.
The cottage has four bedrooms, with two double rooms and a twin room on the first floor and a room with bunk beds on the ground floor, making this the ideal family getaway.
Two bathrooms upstairs, one with a shower, and a further downstairs shower room ensures flexibility, while the living areas and kitchen are cosy and have everything needed for up to eight people.
However, the real joy of coming to Keyhaven is the great outdoors. The Old Post Office has a family-sized courtyard garden split across two levels which is protected from the wind.
Take a ten-minute walk down to the coast and discover the World War II fort, Hurst Castle, which has several different walks, its own cafe and also offers superb views of the Isle of Wight's famous Needles rock formation, which sits just two miles away. The nearby Gun Inn is good for food, while there is the opportunity for crabbing by the castle's footbridge.
Around this area is perfect for walking, bike rides and especially kayaking, with a large and quiet piece of water being protected by the pebbly Hurst Spit.
For those wanting to enjoy the quiet life, the wide array of wildlife - particularly birds - makes it a beautiful spot to sit down with a book, or simply to just take it all in. The Lymington-Keyhaven Nature Reserve forms part of the coastal zone of the New Forest and is as stunning as expected.
Small sandy beaches are revealed here by the outgoing tide, while a larger beach can be found just a ten-minute drive away in Highcliffe-on-Sea. The town of Milford on Sea and its beach and amazing fish restaurants are also just a 25-minute walk away.

Please expect our short stays to be 60%+ of our weekly prices. We are not a hotel and it takes a huge amount of work, especially with COVID around, to make the house clean and right for guests. Kids in travel cots stay free.
The prices above give a guide only. In peak season the price can be higher than the 'to' price shown here. We use a dynamic pricing structure which means prices can fluctuate slightly on a daily basis. Pricing depends on demand for this house and across the area. We cannot guarantee the prices quoted today will be the same in the future.
