Learn moreThe Oakhouse Bath has the most impressive location. Its position 700ft above an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty means you get views galore. Inside the cabin you’ll find a beautifully cosy interior with reclaimed materials making it wonderfully unique. Choose to hide away in the oak woodland, head out on the Cotswolds Way or explore the charming Georgian town of Bath. And at the end of the day, relax on your own private deck or snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove.
Inside the cosy cabin is a beautiful open-plan kitchen, living and dining space. The unique interior is lovingly put together with repurposed materials used throughout - from the sanded scaffold plank flooring to the old school laboratory sink in the bathroom. Light floods in through the large windows, and the beautiful vaulted ceiling adds a real sense of space. The sitting and dining area has a wood burning stove at its heart. Cosy down on the sofa in front of the fire, or enjoy a relaxed supper at the beautiful dining table. There’s no television (too many trees for reception) but there is a well-stocked bookshelf and plenty of board games, perfect for really switching off. For those that feel the need to connect, there is also Wifi.
The kitchen boasts beautiful oak work surfaces, open shelving and a large Belfast sink. And, we can pretty much guarantee that you have never chopped vegetables to a finer view. On a practical note, there’s an induction hob, oven, microwave and even a dishwasher.
The other side of the cabin houses a small but perfectly formed bathroom, complete with a full size power shower and fluffy towels. And the stunning bathroom door from India is quite the talking point. Situated above the bathroom, accessed by a ladder, you will find a cosy mezzanine area with a single mattress - ideal for a third guest.
The bedroom, with its large king size bed and dual aspect windows, is stunning. And the bed is elegantly dressed in crisp linen and soft throws for a super-comfy night's sleep.
Outside, you have a covered terrace - which makes a good spot for muddy boots or to sit out a passing shower. For al-fresco dining there is a wonderful decked area that is raised out into the woodland. Surrounded by lanterns and with a dining table and chairs, it’s seriously romantic. Below the wooden deck is your own BBQ and fire pit area meaning that you can really get to grips with the good life.
The location is perfect for a romantic escape. Indulge in some country strolls - you’ve really no excuse as the Cotswolds Way runs directly along the woodland boundary There are also three delightful pubs that are accessible via a walk across some lovely countryside. If you feel the need to get out and enjoy some culture then the gorgeous Georgian town of Bath is just a ten minute drive away (The park and ride to Bath is walkable to or 5 minutes by car). With plenty of impressive architecture, its overflowing with history and culture. Indulge yourselves at the impressive Thermal Bath Spa, or head out to explore Bath's vibrant dining scene where there’s everything from pretty tearooms to trendy cafes, and high-end restaurants to cosy gastro-pubs.

Leave a reviewWe had a wonderful stay at Oakhouse. We loved the feeling of being up in the trees and found the cabin was very well equipped with everything we needed. We also loved the location, perfect for relaxing, long walks on the Cotswold way and for a trip into Bath. Jane and Jimmy the cat were fantastic hosts and I really would recommend Oakhouse to anyone looking for a relaxing break. 4 nights didn't feel like enough and we hope to be back one day.

What an amazing place! A little slice of paradise. Everything is so well thought out and we felt right at home. Thank you to Jane and of course Jimmy the cat for being so welcoming. Highly recommend for a get away from life/work etc. Bath itself is so close and you are surrounded by beautiful walks. Can’t wait to come back.

What a fabulous time! The Oak House was a wonderful weekend away, tucked away in a silent little corner of the country. Cosy, comfortable and blissful, we didn't want to leave at the end of the weekend! This was only strengthened by the phenomenal weather we had for our visit. Thanks to Jane for being such a wonderful host, and to little Jimmy for being a wonderful visitor/alarm clock!

Our long weekend at the Oakhouse was perfect in everyday. If you like rustic, nature and utter relaxation then this is the place for you. The Oakhouse itself has been constructed with love and care, creating the most perfect bolthole for a coupe to enjoy. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather and had wall to wall sunshine. The views and sunsets from the deck were mesmerising and we were utterly charmed by the house. We have two young girls (who spent the weekend with their grandma to enable us to go) and it's the first time in years we have actually napped in the afternoon and laid in, which goes to show just how relaxed we were. The surrounding area is also picture perfect. I had the best trail run and we hiked, Bath is right on your doorstep if you want a hit of historic culture as well. The Bath Skyline walk was a great way to take in the city. We really didn't want to leave and really hope to be back for another stay in the not too distant future. Thank you, Jane. You were a wonderful host too.

This place is so perfect for a relaxing getaway amongst the trees and countryside. It is beautifully built and every area and item is very carefully considered. We visited in autumn and it was such a cosy little house to sit in with the log burner going. I can only imagine how incredible it looks in spring when the flowers all come up. The views across to Bristol and Wales in the distance are a stunning sight to wake up to each morning. The fire pit was a great touch on a chilly evening with marshmallows. A perfect weekend.

Still trying to find the correct words other than Fantastic. Its every thing that it says on the tin. Very peaceful, relaxing, comfortable, well equipped, stunning views plus the added advantage of your very own patch of woodland containing animals like owls, Deer, squirrels to mention a few during our visit. We were blessed with glorious weather during our 3 day break which allowed us see the hot air balloon's drift by including some stunning sunsets over Bristol. Guessing what I'm trying to say is YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. Thank You Jane for allowing us to stay.

PERFECT... it's the only word to describe our experience from start to finish! Jane was wonderful, instructions/ directions etc were crystal clear, and booking was simple (even during Covid19!) The Oak House itself is utterly stunning, as are the views and surroundings. We spent three nights there and I was simply in awe of the little unique features we kept finding! So peaceful with beautiful walks right on the doorstep. We felt very fortunate that the weather was temperamental as it encouraged us to stay inside/on the deck and enjoy every second. Well equipped with the comfiest bed and most gorgeous furnishings. Simply couldn't have asked for more.

Perfect place to escape the city for a winter birthday treat. Gorgeous cabin with thoughtful decorative touches inside and out. I was delighted to have a little birthday treat left for me and the log burner was super cosy. So easy to get to from Bristol too. From north Bristol it turned out cheaper for 2 of us to get a taxi instead of the train! Very easy to reach without a car in general. Nice and secluded and with an awesome view over the city. Thank you for a lovely birthday. X
