The detail

The Green House is a designer property that doesn’t hold back when it comes to contemporary design and ultimate luxury. Designed by Devon-based architect David Sheppard, it’s a modern-day masterpiece. The chic interiors are breathtaking - with a stunning wood-clad ceiling, elegant wood burning stove and floor-to-ceiling windows. And that’s just the lounge. Step into this grand property, set amidst glorious Devon countryside, and be instantly calmed by the beautiful surroundings both inside and out.

The large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is truly inspiring, with interiors that effortlessly draw from the nature that surrounds the property. Natural materials are key to the design - from the floors all the way to the impressive ceiling. And with large windows allowing copious amounts of light to pour in - it’s mesmerising.

Window seats run the length of this extraordinary room. Sitting next to the floor-to-ceiling windows, it feels as if you’re amongst the tops of the trees. And the deliciously muted colour scheme of the textiles adds a rich warmth to the space.

A large round wood-burning fire sits at the centre of the room and is quite the conversation piece - cleverly positioned so that it can be enjoyed wherever you are in the room. And a large characterful dining table sits perfectly in between the plush sofa area and the ultra-modern kitchen.

It’s not all airy, Scandinavian-inspired interiors though. Head to the gorgeous snug where you’ll be greeted by an emerald green velvet sofa, dark walls and a Moroccan-inspired tiled floor. It’s the ultimate in decadence and the perfect space to indulge and lose yourself in your favourite film.

There are four bedrooms (two double rooms with en suite; one with bath in the bedroom. One double room with built in extra single bed. One bedroom with two bunk beds). The rooms all come with deluxe beds and are elegantly dressed in luxurious linens and colourful textiles. The children’s room is gorgeously light and simply designed with lovely pops of colour keeping it playful.

The bathrooms are as stylish and sparklingly clean as you’d imagine. And as always, there are some sleek designer features - bold tiles, exposed copper pipes and even a bath with a view.

The local area is as jaw-droppingly beautiful as the property. Set in the centre of Devon you have both coast and National parks within driving distance. Situated near the historic market town of Tiverton, it’s a great gateway for all that Devon has to offer. Head to Exmoor or Blackdown Hills (an area of outstanding natural beauty) for sublime walks and outdoor pursuits. And the Grand Western Canal Country Park is fabulous - with horse-drawn barge trips, boat hire and a cafe.
