Escape the hustle and bustle of Central London, while still located in the heart of one of the busiest and most exciting cities in Europe, at The Boathouse. This boutique hotel has been launched in conjunction with MADE.com, with holidays designed on a bespoke basis.
From the outside this looks like an industrial style barge, and inside the design has taken influence from Scandinavia with its decor. The Boathouse is designed as a one bedroom hotel, but its flexibility means it can accommodate up to four people by converting the lounge into a second bedroom. Step onto the barge and walk down the wooden panelled hallway and enter the open plan living area. With a large comfy sofa, books, board games, and a wood burner, this is the ideal space for a cosy night in. The fully equipped kitchen sits at one end of the room, while at the other stairs lead up to a raised seated area.
Windows running along both sides of the barge let the light flood in as guests walk down to the other end and into the bedroom. The cabin style room has a large raised bed, with an en suite bathroom leading off it. The beautiful white tiles of the walls and floor contrast strikingly with the wooden panelling and porthole windows. A short walk onto the roof of the Boathouse reveals the outdoor terrace, with a table and benches for alfresco dining and wicker furniture for relaxing as the busy city passes by.
For those who want to make their stay that little bit more special, further bespoke services include a champagne reception, private chef, or yoga teacher. For getting out and about there are two bicycles available and also a rowing boat for those who want to explore the waters of the Floating Pocket Park in Merchant Square.
The park was the brainchild of garden designer Tony Woods and sits in the Paddington Basin, with open lawn areas, communal seating, and decked platforms and walkways. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, as well as Epicurean street food served every Tuesday and Thursday. The Boathouse is also ideally located in West London for exploring everything the city has to offer.
