Step inside The Bakehouse to a beautifully renovated country cottage. Wonky beams, a log burner and a large upstairs bedroom with exposed timber cruck frames add to its rustic charm. Sitting in a former farmyard across from a 16th-century farmhouse, it boasts views over the reed beds and surrounding countryside.
Wander down the gravel path that borders the cottage and take in the scene from Middlebere Farm Hide, the best point from which to observe the upper reaches of Middlebere Lake. Walks around here will lead you through a special landscape of old oak woodlands and vast expanses of open heathland abundant with wildlife.
Just down the road from the cottage is the market town of Wareham. Enjoy its traditional pubs, shops selling local produce and, of course, it’s weekly markets. You’ll be just a 20 minutes’ drive to the golden dunes of Studland Beach. Hike up the headlands for panoramic views of Old Harry Rocks and the rest of the bay.
