At the end of a bridleway near to the quaint and charming village of Bearsted, The Annexe is a light and airy loft-style studio space with natural pinewood floors, benefitting from a private entrance and its own private courtyard and hot-tub. An ideal option for individuals and couples wanting to spend time exploring the nearby North Downs, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Annexe has everything you need for a long weekend or longer stay getting back to nature in the awe-inspiring landscape of Kent.
The Annexe has been tastefully furnished inside, and benefits from timeless features. A classic, country feel has been created thanks to pretty blues, and stylish Laura Ashley peacock wallpaper. The king sized bed is deep and soft and luxurious, while the fitted bathroom successfully combines sharp, clean lines, with truly beautiful ceramic tiling.
Outside, trellises and a wooden gate have been utilised to create an airy yet private space. This is also where the hot tub is located, making the patio the perfect spot to relax at the end of the day with a glass of wine, or sit with your cup of coffee in the early morning, whilst planning the day ahead.
No expense has been spared in fitting out the kitchen, which also includes a microwave, as well as a sink, hob and fridge. The kitchen has been designed with a stylish, contemporary aesthetic making use of pine wood and jade splashbacks.
Visitors flock to the nearby national trail to escape the claustrophobia and stress of urban life. Between the countless cycling paths, foot trails, and hillside views there are dozens of ways to lose yourself amid the beauty and joy of Kent’s most celebrated wooded hills.
The Annexe is also located a 10 minute drive from the magnificent Leeds Castle. Though lovers of the great outdoors may opt to enjoy the one hour walk to this historic spot that passes through some lovely countryside. There are many marvellous country pubs along the way, offering fantastic ales and good food.
The studio is sufficiently tranquil and stylish that a night in feels like a treat. Those looking to spend some time in one of South East England’s most sought after areas will find this corner of the Home Counties delightful.
The surrounding vicinity offers abundant dining experiences, with a wide selection of diverse cuisines. The local pub in Thurnham, The Black Horse, offers excellent local ales in an 18th century inn, as well as doing brilliant pub food. For a more formal meal out, head to Fish on the Green in nearby Bearsted, where you’ll also find a brilliant Indian restaurant, The Rose. For high quality local ingredients, swing by butchers-cum-deli Rickwoods.
