Summerhill Studio is owned and managed by Emma Spencer.
This gorgeously snug studio apartment, with its own garden and views out over the apple orchard, is the perfect spot from which to explore everything that Kent has to offer. Summerhill Studio, with its bright finish and big French doors that open out onto your own private patio, is a stylish living space that is compact, yet remains spacious and filled with natural light. This cosy studio contains a double bedroom with a luxuriously comfy bed complete with warm duvet and soft woollen blankets in winter, a dining area and a neat little kitchen, and also has a separate bathroom with a shower.
This cute apartment, perfect for couples in search of a romantic break in the Great British countryside, is situated just outside the small village of Benenden which sits inside the High Weald, which is a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Venture out and soak in the stunning countryside that is all around you, from rolling hills, to trickling streams and wonderful woodland walks. This part of the country is a rambler’s dream, and can also be easily explored on bikes.
You won't go hungry at Summerhill Studio. For breakfast you can rustle up scrambled eggs, freshly provided by the hens which wander free around the garden. There are some wonderful pubs and restaurants in the area, including an excellent pub nearby which serves good food and a very nice afternoon pint.
As well as seeing some heart stopping British landscapes that wouldn’t look out of place on a postcard, Summerhill Studio is also perfectly placed for you to pop out in the car and visit some gorgeous old towns, from the affluent and vibrant Royal Tunbridge Wells, to the fabulous, historic cathedral city of Canterbury, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is also the historic town of Rye, with nearby beach at Camber Sands that are 20 mins away and beautiful. Slightly further you'll find the otherworldly coastline of Dungeness - a photographers' paradise, with great fish and chips at the 'The Pilot’. Perfect for wine-lovers, the award-winning Chapel Down vineyard offers tours, tastings and food. Bedgebury Forest and Bewl Water are also nearby as are National Trust properties Sissinghurst, Scotney, and Bodiam Castle
No matter what time of year, whether in the blossoming spring, the hot summer, the colourful autumn, or the frosty winter, Summerhill Studio is a fabulous place to stay.

My boyfriend and I had the most lovely weekend stay at the Summerhill Studio. It was a belated Christmas trip (due to restrictions) and it lived up to expectations. The studio is beautiful, very cosy & cute and right next door to the woodcock inn which served great food and drinks! The host Emma was so warm & friendly and offered us lots of wonderful recommendations. We ate out locally, went for country walks & on the final night had a takeaway and spent the night in the studio which was lovely- it has everything you will need for a weekend stay! Highly recommend.

An area of outstanding beauty with a super duper host. The Summerhouse is divine, immensely clean, modern & contemporary which is perfect to our taste. The property is set in a tranquil environment & is a wonderful setting for a couple looking for an escape to the country. Emma couldn't of been any more hospitable, offering copious amounts of recommendations over our stay. 100% will revisit as well as recommend to friends & family.

For once the property fully lived up to its 'blurb'. We had three lovely nights at the Studio, which proved a great base from which to explore a most beautiful area and had the great advantage for those who do not (drink &) drive at night a welcoming pub with good food a mere twenty metres away. Emma was a splendid host, available but not omnipresent!

We stayed here for four nights, having booked the break around a wedding we were due to attend. Well, the wedding had to be postponed due to Covid 19 but we kept the booking and we are so pleased we did! The studio is beautifully done out, decorated in white and tastefully furnished. The back window is huge, with a door leading to your own patio and affording a sweeping view over the garden. Emma is helpful and friendly and she knows so much about the area to steer you in the right direction for trips & places to eat, We didn't actually want to go out to many pubs /restaurants due to the virus. However, we managed to make a couple of meals using just the microwave! We would totally recommend Summerhill Studio and we have booked again for next year (hopefully to attend the wedding this time!)

My partner and I both stayed at the studio for a weekend break. Summerhill Studio is absolutely gorgeous, really quiet and peaceful. The interior is well considered, with lovely furniture and modern design features, which I love. Would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again for sure! x

This is the most amazing property and I can't recommend both the studio and Emma highly enough. Everything in the studio was to a high spec. and totally pristine. It's set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, so surrounded by lovely country lanes, woodland walks and beautiful villages and yet with gorgeous towns like Rye on the doorstep. It has a private balcony overlooking a lovely quaint garden and flanked with a quaint 17th C. village inn on one side and a rolling orchard on the other. Certainly don't be put off by the inn, as I stayed in the studio for a week and never heard a thing). A private gravel drive (for off road parking) provides a discreet and private entrance. In terms of facilities, equipment and location the studio has everything you could possibly want and I really have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it. As a host/owner, Emma was the epitome of kindness and went far above and beyond to make my stay wonderful and relaxing.... (thank you again Emma). This studio is a little gem.

We had a faulous stay at the studio and where won over the moment we drove up the drive - the lovely setting comes a very close second to Emma's delightful help and warm welcome. We had a most delicious breakfast and took Emma's advise for dinner in the neighbouring villages - regretted leaving after two days but wil certainly be coming back for more, next time will see us talk walk in this ovely countryside and tour some of the other attractions on offer. Thanks again,

My partner and I just spent the weekend at Summerhill Studio and was blown away from the minute we arrived. The studio was spotless, the views and setting were amazing, high quality fixtures / fittings and Emma the owner runs this secret kent retreat perfectly. She was always on hand to help us with local information and the breakfast she cooked for us on the sunday morning was as good as it gets. We are already looking for a free weekend to head back down to Summerhill. This place delivered and you will never want to stay in a hotel again.
