Weaving your way through lush palm trees, bamboos and ferns, as you head towards this luxurious wooden cabin you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in a tropical jungle rather than Kent’s Garden of England. Although nestled within the owner’s garden, this hand-built, cedar wood dwelling is hidden away amidst the exotic foliage, so you’ll really feel like you’ve got away from it all.
The stilted, split-level cabin is bursting with quirky design features and a wonderful smell of wood will surround you from the moment you step inside. Wooden beams span the cosy lounge and a comfortable sofa, scattered with cushions and throws, is perfectly placed in front of the log burner. The adjacent open plan kitchen is equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare and enjoy a rustic feast, including a Rangemaster oven, a microwave and a wooden breakfast bar. The kitchen window looks out over the lush garden, so you’ll feel surrounded by nature, even when you’re doing the washing up.
On this floor you’ll also find the beautifully tiled bathroom, which boasts underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty in the colder months. There’s also a large shower, twin basins and a high-end WC.
The entire lower floor is dedicated to the grand, oak-clad bedroom. Opening the solid walnut wood door, you’ll descend four wooden steps to reveal a magnificent, super-king four-poster bed, complete with luxurious drapes. Made from live edge wild mango timber, this bespoke bed sits beneath a 12ft high ceiling. This timeless room is also home to a second log burner, a six foot tall velvet high back chair, an elegant chaise lounge and a host of other one-off furnishings.
Outside this wooden haven, you’ll have plenty of space to relax among the ferns. There’s a roof terrace with serene views over the tropical garden, a covered decked area adorned with twinkling fairy lights, a table for two to enjoy an al fresco meal and a private hot tub.
If you’d like to explore outside of your jungle paradise, a one-minute walk through the village will take you to footpaths venturing off through the countryside in every direction. The 400-year-old Lantern Inn is less than a 100m stroll away and the charming coastal town of Deal is a 10-minute drive.

Leave a reviewGenuinely don't even know where to begin with this place! I booked a 2 night stay for me and the Mrs because I knew just from the pictures alone that 1 night wouldn't be enough. I also opted for early check in because I wanted is to arrive earlier in the day to really be able to make the most of our time, and I'm so glad I did. This cabin was worth every penny and to be fair considering the quality and how beautiful this stay was I'm surprised at the price. From the moment we got there we were amazed at how it all looked. My Mrs even cried because of how happy she was that I'd booked it. We planned to go exploring the day after we arrived but the hot tub and log fire were so comfortable that we went out for lunch down at the beach and then just came straight back. Jon the owner was very warm and welcoming and a really good laugh and was nowhere to be seen for the duration of the stay but very kindly let us know that if we needed anything he'd be right over to assist, even with getting the log fire going... which my ego just would not allow, I got there in the end. Honestly from the very moment we arrived to the very moment we left it was absolutely perfect. We will one hundred percent be returning probably more than just the once. I promise if you've got a few cabins on your list then scrub them off and go here. You will not be disappointed If I could give more than 5 star I absolutely would

The Jungle Cabin is a very unique place to stay, peace and quiet and seclusion. Nice and cosy cabin (thanks to the log burners). The cabin had everything you could need and a tentative host; Jon was always around and thankfully came to the rescue lighting the log burners when we let them go out. Bed and pillows very comfortable, had couple of good nights sleep. Hot tub was very welcoming, hot, steamy and relaxing under the night skies. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing, cosy getaway break.

The moment we stepped foot into the jungle cabin we knew we was in the treat. The jungle themed cabin truly makes you feel like you're in the jungle. John was the perfect host always checking that everything was okay. I will be defiantly be returning and will be putting the jungle cabin onto friends and family.

What a stunning work of art! This place was a master piece, everywhere you look there was something else to look at or spot, the detail was incredible. The bedroom was out of this world!! We had the most amazing stay at the jungle cabin. So much thought and time has been put into everything about it - from the walk through the bamboo to the cabin, the fairy lights surrounding the hot tub, to the wonderful furnishing which made it so comfortable and the fantastic pieces of art throughout ….we spent 3 nights and were still finding new wooden carvings by the last day!! All this rounded off by a wonderful Sunday road at the lantern inn, just a short stroll away. Definitely a little piece of heaven - thank you Jon and Jo, we hope to return!

My partner and I have just left, we had been sold on the pictures on this website, yet when we walked in, the atmosphere with jungle noises and music, TV’s playing jungle scenes, the set up of the plates etc on the kitchen table and candles burning was immense, then you start to walk around, the pictures do not do this place and what Jon has created justice, we spent the first 2 to 3 hours just walking around in awe of this place, as my mrs commented this is the coolest place we have ever stayed, the whole place is just unreal, the place blew us away, well done Jon, you have created something very special and we will certainly be back

Just wow! Stayed here as a surprise getaway for the hubbies 50th Birthday. Such a beautiful cabin, can’t believe the workmanship that has gone in to this, it’s stunning. The decor and furnishings were unreal, so cool and quirky. We had a wonderful stay in the jungle cabin. The path lined with bamboo down to the cabin sets the scene perfectly. The cabin is exceptionally well put together and the attention to detail is incredible. From the moment we stepped inside, the warmth of the log burners and the scented candles made it feel really cosy and a world away from real life. The perfect place to escape to. The Jungle Cabin is a wonderful adventure in itself! Beautiful cabin and lovely hosts :) Everything was of top standard, nothing too much trouble and the decor throughout was not only jaw dropping but really interesting! We stayed for 2 nights and there is still so much more to see and explore in the cabin! The hot tub is private and has great ‘massaging’ jets, the fairy lights light up a beautiful garden area. Wow, just wow! Walking into this place is actually rather special, almost made me well up. It's even better in person than the photos. Great surrounding area too, Jon recommended some great places for lunch out, but then we just spent the rest of our time here with music, wine, log burner blazing and chilling in the hot tub surrounded by fairy lights. A truly fantastic few days, every detail and care was taken by these great hosts to make our stay very special. We've already gifted a night to friends as a Wedding present and we will definitely be back!

What a truly memorable time we had at the Jungle Lodge for our 20th Wedding Anniversary! We arrived on Saturday for two nights and were immediately welcomed by John who gave us the keys and pointed us towards the lodge. After a fun walk through the jungle-like tropical garden we arrived at the lodge and were frankly bowled over by the place! The lodge itself has been built with fantastic craftsmanship, passion and care, and really does feel like you are stepping into the jungle and away from everyday life, just without the long flights and malaria tablets! With lots of fascinating memorabilia and Jo’s wonderful skills at interior design, John and Jo have created a complete one-off and an absolute gem of a place! Very talented people and warm hosts! We were welcomed by the lovely smell of scented candles and the sounds of the rain forest. The lodge is brilliantly equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed a few dips in the hot tub along with cosying up in the lounge with a book or film in front of the log burner - just what we needed. Touches like a loaf of gorgeous freshly baked bread, made and bought to us by John really were the icing on the cake and we could not recommend this place highly enough! Jo’s skills also extend to jewellery making and we would definitely recommend taking a look!

Just had a fantastic short break at the Jungle Cabin. Jon and Jo were very welcoming on arrival and happy to help with anything we needed during our stay. A short walk through the tropical planting made it truly feel like we were staying in a jungle retreat. The cabin is amazing with everything we needed and lots more besides! Lots of wooden statues and ornaments and a fabulous 4-poster bed. We had a lovely relaxing stay made even better by the hot tub to soothe away all the stresses and strains from our daily life. Will definitely look to return at some point.

Wow, what a fabulous cabin to stay in and what fabulous hosts Jon and Jo are. We went down Friday night, arrived around 7 and as soon as we walked through the gate, we were instantly hit with how beautiful the cabin look along with the outside patio area for the hot tub and the roof terrace seating. Walking through the cabin, you can't help but notice all the intricate details of the how everything looks in the cabin, from the breakfast bar setup to the the bathroom to the stunning bed. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. Also a great little wine fridge with a few very good bottles of wine. l I used the spot to propose and I can't suggest this cabin enough to people, it was worth every penny and more. Thank you Jon and Jo for letting us stay, I'm sure we will be back.

We’ve just had an amazing stay in the Jungle Cabin. Before arriving, Jon always responded to messages quickly and gave lots of useful information about the cabin and local area. The cabin itself is really special. The interior design and woodwork are beautiful. We noticed something new each day that we were there. Both the cabin and hot tub were spotless. It was in a really good location to discover Cantebury, Deal and the White Cliffs of Dover. We also had a lovely meal at the local pub, the Lantern Inn which is only a few minutes walk away. We would definitely recommend staying.

Set in a it's very own private little jungle in the middle of Kent, the Jungle Cabin is fantastic place to chill out and get away from it all. It was a shame we didn't have the weather to use the sundeck, but lounging in front of the wood burner and soaking in the hot tub made up for it. This place is absolutely beautiful and was EXACTLY what we were looking for. The pictures really don’t do it any justice because unless you see it - you can’t really appreciate or put into words how much thought, time, energy, passion and effort has gone into the jungle cabin. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and the only negative we had, was that we had to leave - there’s nothing better than finishing your day in a hot tub. John is also very friendly and welcoming which makes the whole experience that little bit better - he’s exactly what you want from a host. Booked as a surprise birthday treat for my Husband and what an amazing treat it was. The cabin is absolutely stunning. We entered to the sounds found in a rain forest, being shown on the 2 tv screens, the delightful smell of scented candles, low mood lighting and a jaw dropping sight in each and every room. The Jungle Cabin does not disappoint, the huge four poster bed is extremely comfortable in the large downstairs bedroom, the walk- in shower and bathroom is very spacious yet cosy. The lounge, kitchen and dining areas are very well equipped and there are treasures galore throughout. The hot tub is huge and perfectly positioned. The upper sun deck is a great sun trap and we were lucky enough to have great weather to enjoy it for our 3 night stay. Jon and Jo are great hosts and their wonderful home from home is the perfect place to relax, unwind and totally chill out. Highly recommend staying in The Jungle Cabin and will definitely be going back.

A prefect balance of secret hideaway yet only 10 minutes from the kent coast with a pub 2 minutes walk away. The experience begins as you follow the winding path through the bamboo garden until you reach the cabin cleverly hidden from the main house. So much thought, love and history has clearly gone into the creation of this special place. We loved the hot tub, the log burners, the sun deck and the luxurious 4 poster bed. Jon and Jo are excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. They gave us lots of information about the local area including the excellent recommendation of the Goose on the Green at Walmer for breakfast. We had a great weekend and would highly recommend. It’s in a great location if you want to explore the coast from Deal to Dover and beyond.

The jungle cabin is spectacular and even better than the photos and completely private too. There is so much to look at, read and loads of board games. They have thought of everything. Jon was the perfect host - after check in he left us to ourselves but was always on hand to answer any questions. The hot tub is fantastic - even on a cold and rainy January evening. Probably the perfect time to use it actually! Highly recommend the local pub the Lantern. One of the nicest pubs I have been in. All in all a wonderful stay and I can't recommend it enough - I only wish we had stayed for more than 2 nights.

Sure the pictures look great but some how they don’t do it justice. It was a truly awesome experience and a feast for the eyes. Set in the quiet countryside of Kent the cabin feels remote and private and is kitted out with all the essentials and more. The hot tub was the perfect setting for our chilly December evening. The kitchen is fully comprehensive and was a lovely place to cook our celebratory wedding anniversary meal. The craftsmanship is to the highest standard and clearly a labour of love, we sat for quite sometime observing the thoughtful touches placed throughout the cabin. Jon & Jo are extremely hospitable hosts with a great knowledge of the local area and can recommend a spot or two for a day or evening out. We came away feeling deeply relaxed and rested which isn’t bad considering we’d only spent one evening at the cabin. Value for money and a unique experience, if it’s available when you’re free I’d strongly recommend booking.

On arrival through the jungle woodland nothing can prepare you for the amazing cabin, the wonderful aroma of the beautiful wood interior and the wood burners themselves keeping the place toasty. The weather sadly was awful and prevented us from enjoying the amazing outside area but that has only made us more determined to rebook. If you want total relaxation in a beautiful place away from the stresses of the real world, book a couple of nights here, bed, shower and facilities 5 star and Jon, your host, is friendly and helpful if you need help (with the wood burner as we did) but leaves you to your own devices if not required.

WOW! What an amazing place to stay. We stayed here over New Years and it couldn’t have been more magical. On our arrival the cabin looked exceptionally cosy with all the fires lit. Host are extremely welcoming and couldn’t be more helpful. We managed to leave a jacket at the cabin and the hosts couldn’t have been more than happy to post it back to us. Hot tub is fantastic! Even in the rain and cold. The bed is the comfiest I have ever stayed in. Wish we could have stayed even longer! Definitely will be paying another visit. Couldn’t recommend the cabin more!

Having booked the cabin as a suprise for my partners birthday, we were both nothing but amazed at how wonderful this gorgeous little hideaway is. Tucked beyond what can only be described as a mini jungle, the cabin itself is beautiful. The attention to detail is phenomenal and we both enjoyed exploring all of the decor and finishes touches. Our hosts were second to none and always on hand if we had any questions or needs. If you had to ask what our favourite part of the two day break away was, I'd say relaxing infront of the log burner, playing games and taking a dip in the hot tub of an evening. The bed was also THE MOST COMFORTABLE bed I've ever slept in. Would highly recommend this for a mini break and we intend to return again, perhaps for longer than two nights this time!

There is everything you need there and more with a huge attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable and the sounds of the rainforest in the background brought the place to life. My partner and I stayed in the Jungle Cabin for our mini-honeymoon for 2 nights and we were completely blown away by everything about it! On arrival we were greeted by Jon who pointed us in the direction of the cabin through their beautiful tropical garden completely hidden within palms and bamboo. We were given 5 minutes to take a look round ourselves which was great (before Jon joined to show us about a bit more) and it was very welcoming to have a burning fire, candles and some background music to add to the beauty of the cabin. The attention to detail within the cabin is amazing with so much to look at and everything sits perfectly with the theme. The quality of the finish from the unbelievably comfy bed, the awesome furniture and the building itself is at a crazy high level. The hot tub was in a perfect spot, hidden away by the surrounding 'jungle' and is huge! The kitchen was well stocked with herbs/spices/oil etc. which was perfect... it really helps to settle you in and have what you need without doing a huge shop before hand! We spent 2 nights in the cabin and came away feeling refreshed, relaxed and recharged. It's an incredible place to stay and is perfect for a mini, romantic getaway. Jon was a great host who was available when/if needed but left us to enjoy the amazing space he's created by ourselves. We really hope to be back as soon as we can! Thank you for having us!
